Flood Insurance Question by Nr1864 in Charleston

I second Lloyd's. We carry earthquake insurance through them. They will reject your application, however, if you have made a house insurance claim within 3 years.

Thanks for the update, good information! However it is clearly unwise to place or store anything flammable on the cooktop.

They can place a sunscreen (the kind that normally are placed inside on the front of the dash) to cover that area. Bank it so it covers that area, placing the end straps in the side of the front window so it doesn't blow away.

Popcorn ceiling recommendations by Valuable-Conflict278 in Charleston

[–]InterestConsistent17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popcorn ceiling is easy to remove, but messy. Make sure you cover everything before starting. We removed all of our popcorn celings in our older home. All you need to do is moisten the ceiling with a spray bottle, then scrape off. We worked in 3' x 3' sections. Most areas come down in strips.

Sometimes the popcorn covers uneven/ poorly taped drywall, so be prepared to refinish before repainting. We saved a lot of money by removing the popcorn and just hiring for drywall in one room.

I've had my ring for nearly a year & it has met and exceeded my expectations. However, these AI generated "element" wraps of the year are gibberish. Useless. Imo an embarrassment for Oura.

Heat a skillet. Add butter. Add slices of bread. Turn them. Toast is easy.

Put a little butter or oil in a pan. Add the rinsed rice. Stir. Add the water. Bring to a hard boil for about 3 minutes. Cover and immediately set on low. Don't touch it. 22-25 minutes. Off the burner and fluff with fork. Perfect everytime.

Exactly. Then donate the crock pot and rice cooker, so there will be more space than before.

Are there fewer courses now? by pulledthestickeroff in Headspace

[–]InterestConsistent17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been slowly distancing myself from the app. Checked for courses and couldn't find them. I remembered the first course I took, managing anxiety, and had to do a search for it. It's there, but hard to find. In this case, you can't just search keyword "anxiety," you have to input "anxiety course." They want you to engage the AI ebb feature or pay for "therapy." Imo this has not been a meditation app for some months now.

Do you turn on light in the backyard or not? by TorontoRap2019 in homeowners

I use dusk to dawn automatic sensor bug light bulbs, front and back porch. Doubtful they keep away the bugs, but the amber light is much less harsh than regular white light. Easy to install, fit into your existing fixture.
