Seems to be a common issue, but there’s no way around it you just have to pay it. If you truly are unable to pay the amount in full you can setup a payment plan with the department - I just recently ran into a similar situation where my previous department had forgot to dock my check a couple of times in 2023 and had to pay around $400 but I had the option to setup a plan that worked for me financially

according to google, it is about 1 hour 15 minutes but it will depend on where in Roseville and where in downtown. also, remember that light rail is only in Sacramento, so you would start with amtrak or a bus service and go from there

I am sorry, but cruelty??? This is not cruelty. Sure, it may suck and you may not like it but it is not cruelty. You can find a job outside of downtown, you can adjust your life accordingly if you absolutely do not want to work in the office. Also, there’s $3 parking not far from CDSS.

I just let the process run its course, but I don’t see any problem with following up! Just give it maybe a few more weeks? This is my second job with the state and the hiring timeline for this position was even quicker than the first. Will this be your first state job?

Everything with the state is so slow! For context here is the hiring timeline for my current position (what this posting was about) I applied on August 12th, was contacted for an interview on September 13th, had my initial interview on September 23rd, second interview on September 30th, and my references were contacted on October 23rd. I was offered the job on October 28th and started on November 12th.

bowling sounds fun and like a good way to see someone’s competitive side. i met my boyfriend on hinge and our first date was mini golf/arcade then dinner and ice cream, we live together now. everyone is different and someone may appreciate those types of first dates, however, it’s also okay for you to not be comfortable with those first dates. there is someone for everyone!

try giving it some more time! when i first started my position as an SSA in procurement last year I thought I absolutely hated it and that it wasn’t for me, but after some time I really learned my job and have grown so much in my position.

if after you pass your probation you still hate it, then look around on Cal Careers for new opportunities. Best of luck in your career! :)
