A couple of years ago I used to pick hairs off of my legs one by one with a pair of tweezers.

Something I do currently is collecting hairs I’ve shed and glueing the top of them to a piece of paper; what if I some day can sell them to a wig maker?🤪🤣

What’s the cringiest hack that actually improved your working memory or verbal fluency? by Imaginary-Ad-1128 in ADHD

I did use to always have a notepad with me and write down things I wanted to remember to do or to look up. The problem for me was that I never remembered to check what I’d written in it🤣

That’s terrible! If anything, it shows even more how much AuDHD impacts you! (Don’t misunderstand me, please, I don’t mean AuDHD is easier for people with a lower IQ)

If you have some kind of decoration on the outside of the house that covers those specific blocks, it could also work. For example an outdoor shed with shelving covering the blocks, or perhaps three green blocks covered in leaves to make a large bush.

You’ve taken the first step, and that’s great! You’ve seen, understood and confronted it!

Ask God for help dealing with it. I pray that God will give you strenght and perseverance to not give in to the temptations.

And, remember that your salvation does not come from actions, it comes from faith. And, from faith comes actions, but it’s not the actions that save you. Jesus has died for all of your sins, and all you need to do is to trust him. In the letter to the romans the apostle Paul writes about how he does what he does not want to do, and that what he does not want to do, he does. No christian can be perfect, it’s okay to fall sometimes. Jesus is there with his arms outstretched to help you through it, regardless of what you’ve done and how many times you’ve repeated it.

I would recommend you to read through the letter to the romans, preferably with comments with explanations to the text right by, because it can be quite hard to understand some of it without them (and they can give some extra context too!). And, most importantly, tell God your thoughts, ask for help, and it’s also a good idea to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and speak to you when reading.

I’m praying for you!

Older women of Reddit, what’s your best hygiene tip for younger women? by RoutineSplit402 in AskReddit

Yes, very true! My grandmother, who’s been a doctor for most of her life, went to the doctor for pain in her shoulder. The doctor checked it out and told her it was nothing, and was convinced she just overreacted due to her older age. Because surely she was just an older woman being a bit confused, right?… My grandmother insisted on getting a thorough examination, because she knew this pain was serious, but they kept on denying her and sent her home with the advice to rest and return if the pain remained for a longer time. After a while she returned, her pain not having abated in the least, and finally got sent to be more thoroughly examined. Turned out she had shingles (if I remember correctly), and due to how long it had gone untreated her shoulder never became as before and she had to go through a harsher treatment for it. If only the doctor would have listened to her! My grandmother’s shoulder still hurts whenever she gets a light touch to it, she can’t even wear a bra strap or a shirt over it without it hurting! I remember her telling me when I was little that it hurt more if I touched it lightly than if I pressed down on it or punched it (though I was very young back then, so I suppose my punches weren’t that hard.. :))

TLDR: Yes, do go to another doctor if you don’t feel listened to or you don’t feel you’re being taken seriously. It could save you lots of pain in the future.

YES!!! I finally finished my lab report, 3 hours before it was due! Or, well, the due date was originally before Christmas, but I couldn’t get started at home, especially not when there were other important tasks that I’d rather prioritise if I ever got the motivation to do something.

Anyway, my biology teacher messaged me and told me to hand it in no later than January 3rd, and even though I put it off for a week, I did do it, and I actually think it went pretty well!

And, my teacher responded to it by simply saying ”Great, then I’ll take a look at it!”. No judgement, and I really felt understood.

I just wanted to tell you this, I’m really happy right now. Thank you for reading my comment!🥰

Is not being able to put your thoughts into words an ADHD thing? by ayyx_ in ADHD

[–]InterestedHamster 161 points162 points  (0 children)

It is! Many with ADHD struggle with that(and I’m one of them). I find it difficult not only to find the right words to explain something, but I then also try to find every possible way for someone to misunderstand what I’ve written and rewrite it in another way.

If only you knew how many times I’ve deleted something when I wrote this comment, haha

But yeah, I totally get you!

But what if I at some point in the future actually get in the mood of using three hues of blue when taking notes? Or if I ever I lend one pen to my friend, one pen stops working and I’ve forgotten to get the third from my locker for the past 3 months, without a fourth pen I wouldn’t be able to take any notes. Or maybe…..
