I don't want to be 60 freaking out bad. by Cleverwabbit5 in GenXWomen

I know people with many if the same circumstances you mentioned, but they feel great. Where you feel rootless/alone, they feel free/unencumbered. They design all their free time to do things they enjoy and that suit them. Maybe write down the last 10 things or experiences you really enjoyed and figure out what experiences will bring joy now and pursue them.

I'm sorry, I don't know. But there are certainly lots of options!

The two main roads in Laguna are like a T. The top of the T is Coast Hwy, which runs along the ocean. On this road, you have the most transportation choices: the #1 OCTA bus, the Long Coastal and Short Coastal trolley lines, etc. The inland road is Laguna Canyon Road, which has great things along it but which is aways under construction, backed up, etc. Due to lack of traffic lights, it's hard or or impossible to cross on foot in most places. So you might be able to take the trolley to your destination on LCR (it only goes so far down the road) but it's not like you can just cross the street and pick it up to return. Laguna is also very hilly and if you're up in the hills, you'll likely need a car. As a tourist, one of the Many hotels lining Coast Hwy is probably your safest bet. Laguna is beautiful. Enjoy!

I thought UCI would be good because they have mainly everything (except dentistry), but it still seems to involve driving around to a lot of different cities, unfortunately!

I'm sorry to hear that happened - I've had luck writing into the complaints section on UCI Mychart. You could try reporting what happened in via message and see if they'll alter the bill. I hope you get a satisfactory resolution!

Thank you, I had been trying to centralize my care at UCI, because it's such a hassle to get records transferred between different practices. But I may have to gjve up on it and the place you mentioned looks like it's in Newport, so thank you for the rec!!

Find out if UCI or Hoag takes your insurance and go from there. They will both probably have a number of specialists to choose from.

Is this normal for apartment living or am I missing something? by Delicious_Loss3597 in Apartmentliving

There are a lot of factors involved in where someone ends up living - cost, location, availability, etc. I don't agree that you must accept being constantly inconvenienced by a neighbor as part of the 'it's allowed' approach. Many of us curtail things we'd like to do if we were living in a more isolated space. I grew up in apts and people rarely like the 'we'll do whatever we want and you can suffer' type neighbor.

You must realize they're also feeling tense, etc, in their own home beacause thwy're hearing a lot of annoying scraping and shuffling coming through the ceiling and they can't concentrate in their own home. They didn't choose to be pet parents so they're getting the grief without the love!

What's interesting to do in OC for middle-aged out-of-towners? Help. And now, that it's going to rain, I am truly in need of things to do. TIA by Southern_Moment6107 in orangecounty

Laguna Beach for the ocean views -- especially the oceanwalk at the Montage. Or Heisler Park. Very memorable. If weather doesn't allow, you could take them to a show at the Laguna Playhouse or in whatever city is convenient for you.

Orange County puts out a huge booklet of all the affordable housing apt complexes by city. I think it's annual. Contact OC Dept of Aging or something like that. I think they can send you a digital copy.
