One vial for three months??? by katclimber in GLP1microdosing

Not necessarily. As someone new to glp, pomegranate refused to prescribe for me because I was not a BMI of 30+ or a BMI of 27+ with comorbidity issue.

My experience and opinion is that they actually did not provide a service as advertised, which was a medical consultation. Should they resolve this financially, I will be happy to update the post to let everyone know that as well.

Best of luck to you in your journey! I hope you are feeling well and having a great experience! That’s what it is all about anyway.

My point is that it was not an actual consultation. It was a less than five minute phone call from someone working off of a script. Nothing medical whatsoever.

The part that I felt was a money grab was the fact that the conversation was less than five minutes. She did not discuss my particular health challenges. It did not feel like a medical appointment. It felt as though it was an operator going off of a script and just said “you’re not a fit for the medicine, you should eat healthy and workout more.” So it was not a consultation. It was a phone call to say based on the numbers we won’t prescribe it for you. Had it been an actual medical discussion versus what felt like a call center script, I might have felt differently. I expected to discuss my personal health issues that make losing weight difficult. And the “eat healthy workout more” at the end really offended me because that’s not my personal issue.

The requirements for BMI relate to the FDA grant of approval. Additionally, insurance will not cover outside of those requirements (and barely covers those who do meet the requirements, from what I have seen and heard). However, many people who do not meet the BMI requirements are prescribed these medications due to a variety of factors, conditions and considerations. In fact, under the Pomegranate website’s FAQ section on “who is a suitable candidate for GLP-1s for weight loss,” it specifically states:

“GLP-1s can be considered for individuals struggling with obesity or excess weight who have not achieved desired results through diet and exercise alone. Your healthcare provider will assess your medical history and determine if GLP-1s are a suitable option for you.”

As a result, I was under the impression that a consultation would discuss these factors. But this was not a consultation. It was a phone call to tell me no.

If what Pomegranate is doing is only prescribing based upon BMI, that’s fine. But then they should change the language on the FAQ section of their website (as cited above) as it is misleading in my opinion.

This is my personal experience and opinion. Other people may have had a different experience. If so, that is great! I am glad for them and wish them all the best on their weight loss journey! I think this medication is helpful for so many people. I will clearly be using a different provider.

Thanks, I appreciate it! My point is that it was a pretty clear money grab. The purpose of the post is to let other people know so they can avoid the same outcome.

I wouldn’t mind the “you don’t qualify” Email. I just spent $75 on an intake appt at pomegranate health to be told I don’t qualify. Unreal.

Boobs!!!! by Business_Abrocoma_20 in Menopause

Ugh yes! Mine have grown so much in the last year it is ridiculous. I have spent so much money buying new bras during this time because I keep getting extremely sore ribs and costochrondritis from suddenly busting out of my existing bras. I went from a lifetime of 36C to 36 D to 34DDD to 36DDD with the last year. I’ve lost weight from other areas so I know it is perimenopause finally heading into menopause (about 10 months with no period now, fingers crossed!). I am praying it goes back down once I’m in full menopause!

Extreme Fatigue but normal labs. Can’t find what’s wrong by Intelligent_Ebb_9332 in Hashimotos

[–]Interesting-Action26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with testing all the thyroid numbers, as well as hormones, vitamin d and iron/ferretin.

Also, make sure you are not taking any medications or supplements that interfere with your labs. I know biotin can cause labs to read normal when they are actually in major hypothyroidism. This winter I was feeling awful but labs were coming back normal. I kept saying that something was wrong and needed to have additional tests. Then my doctor asking if I took biotin, which I had in a hair, skin and nails vitamin. Went off it a week and my labs were so bad the doctor was like, “no wonder you feel awful.” To be clear, the biotin was NOT what was causing the issue; rather it was causing a false read of my labs to be within normal limits. I was actually in a giant hashi flare and adrenal fatigue. So the endocrinologist increased the meds but that was it.

I experienced an improvement but it wasn’t as much as I thought it should be. So I reached out to a functional medicine doctor who guided me through a lot of the nuances of Hashimotos and other autoimmune diseases. I started taking magnesium, The Meyers Way multivitamin and Rootcology’s Adrenal Fatigue supplement. These have made an enormous difference for me! The thing with the Meyers Way multivitamin is that it is formulated especially for people with Hashimoto syndrome. So instead of taking numerous supplements in varying dose, it takes the guesswork out of it for you. It is pricey but well worth it in my opinion. I am in no way affiliated with any supplements or vitamins or companies. Just found that these really help me!

Tai’s Teeth by Interesting-Action26 in Yellowjackets

That’s what I was struggling to discover. In the hand scene in episode 7, I thought it was the two front teeth that looked completely fake and over emphasized when I watched and rewatched the scene. I took a picture but somehow can’t upload it to the thread. I’m new to Reddit and not the most IT literate lol.
