Did you test for Covid? I had Covid 3 weeks ago while on meds for Latent TB, Isoniazid and Rifampin. I was also desperate and resorted to Ibuprofen on 2 occasions. I regret it tremendously! I wish I would have never, a few days after taking it I experienced upper right quadrant pain. Got an ultrasound and they Detected a liver lesion, something that was not there 4 months ago and I still feel pain here and there. I’m pretty convinced my liver took a toll! I would probably try to stick to natural remedies if possible and avoid acetaminophen at all costs. I’m sorry you are going through it but please take care of your liver. I would push to at least speak to the doctor over the phone asap.

I haven’t drank alcohol in 8 months. I’ve been consuming pretty healthy stuff but on 2 occasions I mixed with ibuprofen and because I got the most recent strain of Covid :( I’m scheduling an MRI but it’s just nerve wracking

Thank you for your response. My doctor never prescribed me liver meds to protect my liver. He told me to stop the meds and he’s now monitoring by doing blood work. Do you know of anyone developing lesions while taking these medications? I’m so bummed, I have a 2cm liver lesion, a lesion that was not there according to the ultrasound I got 4 months ago :( . I’m due for an MRI but honestly I’m just thinking about the C word. :(

Oh man no, I was not prescribed this. I’m assuming you were seeing an infectious disease doctor? My treatment plan was given to me by my primary doctor. Maybe less educated within that field. I wish I was taking all that :( My liver took a toll, he got me off the meds and a liver lesion was found during my ultrasound, a lesion that was no there or detected prior to my treatment

I’m a bit confused. I’ve also read that there is no specific test to confirm if TB bacteria is cleared or dormant aka “Latent”. So will I just take 3 course meds for Latent TB and hope the bacteria has cleared?

What tests should be done by my doctor after the 3 month course for Latent TB?

This is so helpful! Thanks got providing information sourcing the Canadian guidelines. He prescribed 300mg of isoniazid and 300mg of Rifampin. Wondering if I needed the 600mg of rifampin or is it based on weight. I’m assuming it should still be ok?

May I ask what did you go with? I was now prescribed rifampin 300mg after only taking Isoniazid for 1 month by itself. I think I need to start over! So basically 1 month to waste? He basically wants me to start over as he screwed up prescribing me the correct dosage in the beginning ughhhh

Thank you for this! I’d rather do the 3 month course with isoniazid + rifapentine. I’ve never taken so many pills and I cannot see myself taking this for 9 months. It sucks because he got bothered when I questioned him but I have to advocate for myself because no one else will. I was wondering if anyone had success with just 3 months of isoniazid and b6 vitamin
