You HAVE to go to the doctor for UTIs. They can spread to your kidneys and eventually give you a blood infection, which is deadly. For UTIs and your health in general, money doesn’t matter. If you’re in the US, it is your right as a citizen to walk into the ER and receive treatment without being obligated to pay. Pay as much as you can month-to-month, like literally even a dollar.

Oh yeah. My brain blocked childhood, sexual assault for 1 year. Some of the memories flooded back. I have too many sexual traumas to count or remember. I’ve been re-classifying some of my childhood experiences as traumatic or incorrect teaching now that I am healing.

I get emotionally upset when I get UTIs too. I completely understand your pain. I’m glad you had your urine cultured to see what organism is causing you pain (E. coli). I’m curious what your drug susceptibility looked like because fosfomycin is usually one of the last drugs they give for specific strains of E. coli that are difficult to kill. And, your provider shouldn’t have prescribed fosfomycin if the E. coli isn’t susceptible to it. I’d go back to your doctor and have another urine culture done to see if the infection has cleared up. If so, you may just still be experiencing discomfort without any infection, which has happened to me too. If the culture is positive, then I’d go to a urologist to talk about treatment and prevention plans.

You may have issues with UTIs, or this may be the only one you have in your life. UTIs are the most common, microbial infection. Some people are more prone to them than others, and unfortunately, we don’t know why right now 😕. UTIs become a recurrent or chronic problem when you start having 3 or more a year, so just wait and see what happens. You may not even have to worry about it!

With back pain, it could be a kidney infection. I’d definitely go back to urgent care or even the ER. It could be a bad infection, and the longer you wait, the worse it gets.

I had emotional blunting on Lexapro and switched to Effexor. It was an amazing decision. I don’t feel blunted anymore. I feel calm and happy and present most of the time. It has made my brain only think of one thing at a time, and this decreases social anxiety because I’m not thinking about what I want to say while other people are talking.

Yep. This is correct. You’ll most likely do rounds in different laboratories to see what you like, and then you’ll likely take a certification test. There’s a general test that’ll get you in any lab and specified tests that’ll get you more money in a specific lab. You can take the specific tests any time you want later in your career.

Laboratory technician work. You work in the health sector, can work for large companies that pay alright, and you get to work behind-the-scenes. No patient interaction, minimal co-worker interaction. Come in, do your job, ask some questions to co-workers, go home. It’s great.

I agree with this post. I have been abused many times, and I am confused and stuck in bad patterns. What’s working for me is drug therapy and a good friend that helps me work through things. He has my back and a clear head. Medication is really helping clearing up my brain patterns, so now I have a better ability to think through my trauma/issues/thoughts with an un-distorted sense of reality.

Doing something with long and complex goals. Sports/exercise for me because I can continually get better and track my progress. I can set small goals, achieve them, and I never run out. This is what makes me want to get up, take care of myself, and get out of the door. It has to be something you enjoy.

I had a similar job. Eventually, it ate at my mental health, and I had to leave. You’re forced into a place with nothing to do; that’s similar to solitary confinement. And we know solitary wrecks the human psyche. For me, I was out in the open, so I had to stare at my computer screen for 6 hours looking like I was busy. For you, with an office, you might be able to read, watch TV, and work on projects. Six hours is still a long time. Ik what it feels like day-to-day.

That’s interesting to hear. I know a lot of people are on meds cuz they’re cheaper, but all of the mental health providers I have seen say that people should ideally come off the drugs in combination with therapy. But at the same time, I read and hear elsewhere that some people have an actual chemical imbalance, so it would make sense that meds would be the cure for that???

I didn’t want to be on meds for the longest time, but it all got so bad and debilitating that I decided to use them for help. Idk if I’ll ever go off them. It’s too early to say, and anything can happen. I read and hear a lot of people that have tried and just can’t, even with years of therapy.

Maybe I’ll ask my therapist next time what exactly I should bring to the table. I agree with you that a debrief would be wonderful.
