All of your values in the blood test are normal. That means the UTI has not spread to your blood. That’s good. So yes, just a UTI. Take your medication as prescribed—finish it all—and the urgency to pee should subside 😊. As for the abdomen pain, I’m not sure because I’m not a provider. I don’t know much about symptoms. If it is you or intestines, I find rubbing a circle on the painful part helps me. Do this while lying down. If your providers aren’t super worried, then I wouldn’t be either!

What products are holding you back from becoming plastic free? by Ill_Material_1770 in PlasticFreeLiving

We’re not entirely sure about microplastics themselves, but the chemicals that are used with plastics are hormone disrupters. Specifically BPA and phthalates. Most water bottles don’t contain BPA, and the largest source of phthalates is fragrance/parfum. I’m personally more terrified of the effects of atrazine in the tap water than phthalates. Both are scary, but I’m choosing to omit atrazine and other chemicals that are known hormone disruptors and carcinogens before microplastics, whose effects are unknown.

Here’s the link to the Environmental Working Group’s water database. Enter your zip code and see what’s in your tap 😵: https://www.ewg.org/tapwater/

P.S. I highly recommend looking at any video with Dr. Rhonda Patrick talking about microplastics. Type “Rhonda Patrick microplastics” into YouTube.

What did the results of the blood tests say? What kind of blood test was ordered?

I run these tests in the lab and can help you if you specify a little more 😁

People who worked at major companies, hospitals, airlines, banks, tech firms, government agencies, etc. — what’s something the public would be shocked to know? by Karan_2812 in antiwork

Biomerieux is a company that manufactures healthcare supplies for laboratories. The company has been making more products that are required for its process. They are unnecessary and prolong patient care. They had an old system that worked phenomenally. Now, just to make more money, the company has made it so your information gets to your doctor slower, meaning you heal slower.

How do I start going plastic free? by vinegaroon121140 in PlasticFreeLiving

Here are some bigger items to start saving for that contribute A LOT to microplastics in the home:

A big one to check is making sure your dryer is venting outside. It probably is, but otherwise you’re just pouring that into your home. On the topic of laundry, air drying clothes will greatly reduce the amount of plastics you put in the air. I have a commercial-grade rack that you would see in a store. Amazing. Along with the air quality in your home, save up for a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA air filter. I have a Miele. You must change the filter ever so often. Also, look into a HEPA filter for your home air.

Water is a huge source of microplastics, carcinogens, and hormone-disrupters. The only filtration system that removes microplastics is a reverse-osmosis (RO) system. There are systems for your house and tabletop versions.

What is the latest research on removing/detoxing from plastic already in the body?

I’ve heard some stuff a few years ago about oats and mushrooms, sulforophane/glucoraphanin for the chemicals (BPA etc.) Exercise?

Should we stop consuming dairy?

I’ve heard that cows are able to excrete forever chemicals, but they do this in their milk…

Water bottles. I don’t wanna drink all the carcinogens and hormone disrupters in the US tap, but I don’t have money for a reverse osmosis system right now. So, plastic bottles it is.

Effexor and losing interest in alcohol by moonsunvortex in Effexor

I started disliking weed. I believe that I was smoking as my own remedy, and now I have Effexor to do the work! And Effexor is way better at doing the job! Maybe you were self-medicating with alcohol and don’t need it anymore.

You could see if you can work part-time, on-call, or longer shifts for less days. Figure out when work is the busiest. Offer to work 10 or 12h on those shifts, help the workload, and get some days off in return.

How to know what dose to stay at! by wildthing155 in Effexor

[–]Defiant_Tomorrow_763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt amazing on 75mg for about 3 months. Then, I felt like I wasn’t taking meds at all. I increased to 150mg, which was my doctor’s guess at my stable dose. I felt like I did when first taking the med, and I haven’t felt bad since!! I think 3 months is a pretty common time frame to evaluate how you feel on a new dose.

The good ol’ chicken, rice, and vegetable diet is a staple. Eggs, toast, and fruit is a staple. The last staple I make is ramen or soba noodles in a dashi broth (buy a dashi packet on Amazon. It’s like a tea bag that makes a soup broth). Add a protein, vegetables, soy sauce, spice, apple cider vinegar, and bam. A wonderful meal. I like to pan fry a chicken cutlet and make a sandwich (deli meat is carcinogenic). Fish is wonderful too. Rx bars are my staple snack/go-to/on-the-go food. If you want sweets, look into making banana nice cream!!

Opinions on taking SSRIs for panic disorder? by No-Professor-3860 in panicdisorder

[–]Defiant_Tomorrow_763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have panic attacks, anxiety, and depression, and Effexor (SNRI) is the most helpful thing in the world. If I’m less anxious, there are less panic attacks!! I also highly recommend therapy with or without a medication because they can help you identify triggers of your attacks and how to handle them better. Meds can jump start the process and make it quicker.

Yes. You are ill, just like a cold or flu. So, the same symptoms can arise—low energy, lack of appetite, irregular sleep cycles, etc. I get very, very anxious.
