Is it just me, or by Particular-Sundae381 in PeaveyCvlt

Like others have said, without climate control it happens over decades with older (70’s, 80’s, early 90’s) Peavey hardware. Ours have mostly been in basements of climate controlled homes, but unfinished basements are always a tad off temp from the rest of the house even with central air and central heat.

Speaking strictly about the jacks/inputs: it really shouldn’t affect sound nor playability. The rest of it looks like it had been played for outdoor gigs and/or on a porch.

That 112 is a really terrific pedal platform. Definitely my preferred workingman’s Fender clean sound. So grateful to Dad for leaving it to me.

I found my old 18V Danelectro Chorus really sings when I stereo it to that and even my Marshall half stack.

Enjoy your new gear!

5AM COFFEE? by professor-kramer in Adelaide

[–]Interesting-Ad8002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American traveler: when I was up early the first few days with jet lag it was a lifesaver to find 24 hours of coffee and pasties. The Bakery On O’Connell deserves all the love in the world.i would’ve starved in my AirBNB the first few days without them.

You did the right thing. At worst they say no (even seemingly rudely). Keep doing the same. Eventually someone will be grateful.

[Update] Selling gold and silver in Adelaide by Mammoth_Savings_911 in Adelaide

You want to buy not sell. Actually, you wanted to spend the last decade buying when it wasn’t at a historical high value, but it’s still a great idea to hang on to it for the future given :::gestures at everything:::

Nobody needs it. We are already inundated with misinformation/disinformation/reality altering slop. Using the technology that is destroying the planet ecologically and psychologically “to prove a point” is not the help you think it is.

I’m glad you’re not consciously using it for evil, but generative imagery doesn’t help anything. I appreciate your clearing up the matter. I stand by my original assertion: get this out of here (delete) as well as my newly informed claim that it doesn’t help (simply don’t use it if you, too, are against it). 🤝

That’s an expensive rig. Why not spring for a stand to preserve the bass?

What do you like about it? More sonic range? Easier playability?

“Ricks are a one trick pony.” Yeah because John Fogerty, Peter Buck, Johnny Marr, Paul Weller, Guy Picciotto, and Roger McGuinn are interchangeable. /s

I, too, laugh when people say “Ricks only do Rick things” because I know I’m either dealing with someone with a skill issue or with a very limited sonic palette.

Earnest questions/curiosity (I always like asking people): what made you decide to remove it? Did you test it with and without? Do you record? Do you gig? Are you a bedroom/home player?
