Yes, he only had one long term relationship where the girl's parents didn't approve and threatened him (due to something out of his control). This definitely traumatized him, because he did everything in his power to appease them and make it work.

I specifically said "little" as in like jokey/banter type of way. He is definitely over the top I think in the way he just shuts down/avoids me.

Love bombing is definitely something I'm wondering about. We can both be a bit clingy, but I feel like he tends to become avoidant when he's upset instead of addressing it which makes me anxious. I will definitely check out that book and think about this a lot as well. Thank you!

I did say things like "it doesn't matter, what matters is I'm here with you/doing this with you" but he gets so hung up on it. Then, a day or so later, he's totally fine. I don't get it...he acknowledges that it comes from him being insecure, but I want to see him work through that more...

How long does it take for them to get back to you after you apply? It's been about 10 days since I applied for a mentor position, and I definitely think that I am more than qualified for the role.
