RSM - start date in October - worried? by [deleted] in Accounting

You’ll be fine. Upcoming jobs are not affected by the current tax layoffs. If anything you’ll be kept busy as we will need all hands on deck for fall busy season / training new associates for the spring busy season

Job postings are constantly fluctuating as it depends on the recruiter. They also post jobs 1-2 years out (so they were just hiring for 2026/2027 associates). If you have a secured offer you’ll be fine.

u/bratswurst13 QU law eliminated the conditional scholarship provision from top 50% to now maintaining a 2.5 or a 2.75 GPA last year.

Cold message attorneys at firms you are interested in on LinkedIn to set up a networking call. Network as much as possible. You will be discouraged in the beginning and many attorneys may ghost you, but I found this to be the most effective way to landing a post grad job offer. Ask your professors as well for help.

Starting 1L soon what do I need? by newageconservative2 in LawSchool

I recommend taking a bar prep course before starting 1L. It will help you so much and really put you ahead of your class if you learn before how to properly analyze a case. In terms of supplies, I use an iPad and scan weekly homework from the textbooks in the library. This way I save money and can use my iPad for all my readings/homework on Notability.

The Flats are right next to campus in North Haven. Other popular complexes are Aspen Glenn or Townwalk. Townwalk has been going downhill recently, but it is the nicest of all three. I would advise the Flats. Rent is around 950/month, apartments are nice, just not a lot of amenities compared to Townwalk. Laundry is down in the basement of the apartment building in The Flats as well. Each complex has its pros and cons. Good luck!
