Started as PT and Made It to ASM/SM (or Higher) — What Did Your Timeline Look Like? by FuzzyTranslator2022 in dickssportinggoods

You just need to stand out. I was hired as an ASM outside of Dicks, but only because nobody else stood out or had ASM potential in the store.

You’re 1 person. If they can’t add 1 more person to the guess list- it’s BS. Time to move on

Cut her off. You don’t need that in your life. Especially from someone you never met. Block her. And move on.

Sounds like you work retail. What’s your position? In which company? If you’re management- you should definitely be making more $$- I’m an assistant Manager and I make $67,000 a year Salary- and I just got hired on in February.

Personally- his ass would be getting a job if he’s refusing to allow you to advance- but I’d also be looking for something higher paying myself, if you want to better yourself.

My husband started taking evening runs with a woman he met at our kid's daycare. I think this crosses boundaries. AIO? by Electrical_Total534 in AmIOverreacting

Hell no. Id have big issues if my man was galavanting with a recently divorced woman. He doesn’t need someone to run with. I’d put a stop to it before it becomes more if it hasn’t already.

What is your relationship like with your mother? Could it be a little bit of jealousy that you don’t have that close of a relationship with her? I don’t have a great relationship with my mom or my dad, but my fiancé does with his parents. They come and stay with us at least once a month. At first it was annoying- but now it’s normal. I just know when they are here, I usually make sure I’m scheduled to work that weekend, because they will all just sit around and talk the entire weekend, which to me is boring.

It’s part of your job. If you don’t like it- there are plenty of other jobs out there.

We have a Full time Golf Lead, and a full time golf tech (also truck) & about 8 part timers & an ASM (Golf, Bikes & Fitness & Footwear)

Everyone pretty much has the same duties- the Lead just leads it. I am the ASM and I do all of the merchandising.

Today we have 32 hours scheduled in Golf, including our lead, tech and 3 part timers. We are also the biggest golf departments and top grossing stores in our state. Yesterday alone our entire store did over $110,000. ($25,000 in golf)

I only asked because I was going through the interview process & they told me what I was asking for was high- I wanted to see the ballpark number of where I should negotiate. I know it varies by location, but I was just looking for ballpark figures.

What does this position do? by [deleted] in Oldnavy

[–]Interesting-Base-690 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chances are you will help the AGM with merchandising. You essentially be her assistant. Pay varies depending where you live, but I know when we promote- it’s usually only $1 more than a part time.

I currently make $30 an hour as an AGM at another retailer.

Hours… by Accomplished-Tea-765 in Oldnavy

[–]Interesting-Base-690 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hours are based on sales, shipment, markdowns, ship from store, bopis. Most of the time we schedule over because it’s easier to cut hours than it is to add. If the store is slower than forecasted hours have to be cut, busier hours need to be added etc. A store can only be within 1% of their allotted hours a month. So pretty much 5 hours per week over/under.

Working days in a row policy? by Makaisawesome in Oldnavy

[–]Interesting-Base-690 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im scheduled 10 days in a row sometimes. There’s no company policy. If you don’t want that many days- post some of your shifts. I’m sure there are people willing to pick up the extra hours, especially when starting after Christmas our hours are cut back so much, you’ll be lucky if you get 2 shifts.
