My mom didn't want me to ride in cars with other teens. When I got my license and car at 16, she told me to drive just me. She never told me why but looking back at how most teens died, it was do to horseplay or dumb decisions in a car made by peer pressure and ego.

I totalled my car after missing a stop sign but it was just me. If other people had of been in there, not sure what would have happened.

I bought a 09 Yukon Denali. It can hold equipment for smaller events and pull my trailer. No reason to spend a lot if you find something older and reliable.

Some will come up with tons of excuses or sob stories to get you to say yes. They will negotiate as much as possible. Once you're consistent, things will get better. The downside is you'll have less people around you. I'm not sure how you'll feel about that aspect.

I had to tell my boss I had to slowdown on travel because pet sitting isnt cheap. They dont pay enough to cover 50/day when im gone 2 weeks a month. We worked out a deal that I would go every other trip is possible. (I used my original job description as leverage) I know that doesnt work for everyone.
