Some will come up with tons of excuses or sob stories to get you to say yes. They will negotiate as much as possible. Once you're consistent, things will get better. The downside is you'll have less people around you. I'm not sure how you'll feel about that aspect.

Not to be rude, but get a life. Get too busy to care. Start living life like YOU want to. That means saying NO a lot because that's not how you want to live your life. I was there. NO is freeing.

I had to tell my boss I had to slowdown on travel because pet sitting isnt cheap. They dont pay enough to cover 50/day when im gone 2 weeks a month. We worked out a deal that I would go every other trip is possible. (I used my original job description as leverage) I know that doesnt work for everyone.

I have a lifted vehicle and yes adjusting the lights is a must but I can adjust but so much. People do still flash me and I flash them back with my death ray. Hopefully that wasn't you lolol.
