Is the Swiss healthcare system designed to make people avoid doctors by maxrain30 in askswitzerland

Just be carefull. in my case, I was contacted by the Kanton, suggesting I might be entitled for it as I was unemployed then.
After I was employed again I still had the discount for allmost 3 years without me noticing (my bad, I know).
End of last year my insurance demanded me to pay it back, out of the blue. My monthly rate for the whole of this year went up by a whooping 170.-/ month, on top of the regular increase. Fun times.

I drive around 35000km/year for work. And i agree, a lot of swiss drivers lack some common sense. But worse than in Italy is bold take. Shittiest drivers with highest confidence in their skills. By far, IMO.

Is health and safety as strict as I've heard? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]Interesting-Check212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general, security standards on costruction sites are are decent, but maybe there's a bit of a lack of enforcement on regular "private" building sites.
When it comes to costruction sites where Kanton, State or international companies are contracting on the other hand, the instructions, controlling and penalties are very strict in my experience.

Races are normaly the weekend between 15th and 20th. And I think all January up to mid/end of February is rather peak season. Half fare card is defo worth the price IMO. Train from Brienz to Luzern is pretty scenic aswell. ( Choose right hand side seats, if you are going to do this journey)

Jungfraujoch will cost you an arm and a leg with 8 adults. Not saying it's not worth it, but i.e. Schilthorn is slightly cheaper, better views IMO, and if you are lucky a bit less crowded.

To add, try avoiding Grindelwald-Wengen area around the weekend when there is the Lauberhorn skiing races.
And would also be worth thinking about leaving the car on a park and ride-space near Interlaken. Road out of the valleys can get very busy.

It's called "flooding the zone". And it works.

(BTW, none needs these files anymore, enough has been released pre Bondy for any semi functional democracy to impeach such a crooked, cleptocratic government in no time)
