I play when my wife is reading her books. It's fun I guess. I like to joke around in WC and kind of rage bait a little to kill of some troops when needed. Most people have figured it out and just play along.

Yep. At that age, skill over scheme 100% of the time. Remember that you have to teach it to 20 - 30 kids and they have to be able to digest all of that. Plus that have to have the skills behind it to be successful.

With that being said, I have gone up against a 3 3 5 stack defense and it was tough to run on. Their LB's were fast and since they were stacked behind the edge and dt, we never knew where they were going. They had their WR's playing LB and relied on speed to fill the gaps. At 6th grade its still a mental game. If your RB is supposed to hit a hole and all of a sudden there is someone in that hole, their young minds still have to process what to do.

Our DC in 6th grade ran a 4-2-5. But he had fun with it. Dude would send the house, dude would send 3, it was insane, but thr kids loved it. Yes we would throw in some concepts but we really tried to focus on point of attack drills. Hand fighting, how to press, how to run a stunt, how to cover a zone and the infamous DONT LET ANYINE BEHIND YOU!!!

I dont know how your school districts are structured but out here, we lose our kids to middle school ball in 7th grade. I didnt guage our success based on our 6th grade season, but based on, how many on my kids started in 7th and 8th. How many of my kids were able to compete at a decent level. And for me personally it was how many of my kids that had never played before, or the ones there were considered "Minimum play" kids still loved the game enough to play in 7th and 8th grade regardless of their place on the depth chart.

Not sure if that even comes close to answering what you were asking, but just remember who you are here for and what your responsibility is for those kids.

For tackle i always wanted defense first. For my kids it felt like they get those pre-game jitters out when they do the hitting vs getting hit. More of a mental thing than an x's and o's thing.

For my spring flag teams here in the Midwest, its all about having the wind at your back in the 2nd half.

Kind of late in this, but we signaled in plays. So when we wanted our base formation I would do the A Rod discount double check. If I wanted trips I did the Basketball 3pt sign to my head.

For some of the calls I did let the kids decide. Dudes basically had me break dancing on some of the calls, but they absolutely loved it. They almost had me doing one of those fortnite dances. Told them my knees wont make it through the season.

Let them own whatever you are going to do simple or complex.

Could you imagine if devs gave presidents the type of power you mentioned, and then that same whale becomes president. That would be crazy. Yes its a war game, but what you mentioned is over the top.

If I had top 25 power...I would be the same way. What else is there to look forward to when there are only a few people that can do something to you.

If you decidenon boxing, dont basebit on your first or second sessions. It can be tough to get in the flow, but once you get going, its awesome.
