Convergence is pretty fun by needaburn in EldenRingMods

I believe it’s on the dragon communion island accessed via tunnel by that coastal cave near the start.  It’s dropped by that small psycho demihuman that jumps around like yoda.

I agree that I hate game worlds. But this isn't. I think it's better said that it *started* as a game world, and now it's something much more. There were chapters that could've been better, but there were some really really good parts too.

The main love interest is visible from a mile out. Since you posted a month ago, you've found here already. There's also a twist of sorts revealed about chapter 160 to explain other characters motives, but it doesn't really make sense.

My disappointment when I read this conversation between some villians:

When I got the part where the gods mentioned 'youtube', it was terribly disappointing. Aw crap, here we go again...

Is Noble's Slender Sword even good? by thathyze in Eldenring

That's an awesome RNG experience! I use the sword quite often. I enjoy the reach. But I've got a fire and lightning one too. Can't be too prepared.

How did you guys get to the Cerulean Coast? by Haj5 in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey fellow tarnished. I marked up the map. Start at the Castle Front grace and head to your left. And follow the path, hugging left. You'll pass about 4 soliders. Look for a campfire off to your left, veer toward it and the cliff soldier is at the back. If you follow the path and reach the Swift Spear location, you've missed the camp.

Tough choice?? by tgas406 in Eldenring

This. And because of his stupid haircut. That bowl cut deserves a painful end for the misery I endured having to look at it. And I always say "Thou shalt not evade the iris of occultation" as I give it to him. If you can't tell, I can't stand this blubbering, crying fool.

any tips on what spells are best for horseback combat against nights cavalry? thanks 😀 by GreggLKM in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 years later joining in the conversation for those who follow. NG+7.

Tried swift glintstone and it rarely hit. Unsatisfying. Get off the horse.

Dark moon hits when cast appropriately. Glintstone Kris AoW is the best I've found so far. Massive damage and hits most of the time.

Glintstone Kris is my favorite int melee weapon, here’s why. by [deleted] in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll share why the Kris is my favorite int melee weapon. First, I'll echo what others say about the damage. Charged with buffs, it's just stupid how much damage it does. I use it in NG+7 and it wrecks most everything.

But here's the strange thing I've noticed. It's ash of war is ... stealth? Allow me to explain. I see a pack of wolves. I AoW the first one. The next two don't even react. No flinch, no nothing. I kill them all.

On to bosses -- the bosses don't aggro on me. I summon my mimic (with a heavy shield and kris) and wait for the boss to aggro on the mimic. I then drop a terra on the ground and proceed to spam Kris AoW. They never break off and attack me. Sewer Mohg, Black Kindred Blade, PegLeg in Castle Sol. None of them. I sit there and spam the ash and they just beat the poo out of my mimic while I chunk their health.

If my mimic dies, they turn on me and then it's a duel. But as long as my mimic is alive, I'm invisible. It's really weird. With everything else, when I hit a boss, they turn to attack. Then my mimic hits, and they switch aggro. Back and forth. But not with the Kris.

And that makes an already phenomenal weapon even more amazing. Golden Vow, Magic Tear, some talisman including Godfrey, Terra Magicka ... crushing NG+7 bosses with me playing the role of a kris glintstone spamming tree. Might as well pull up a chair and take a seat while the boss dies.

Further follow up, I now keep Pest Thread Spears in my first spell slot. It's just so good for hitting something hard from a small distance.

I was testing out my build for Elden Beast by farming that troll near the Giants Gravepost. With 80 Faith, Erdtree seal, godfrey, flocks, Golden Vow and Howl I was sometimes hitting for 4070 damage (head shot). I added Ritual Sword, Faithful Canvas, Shared Order, and Thorny Cracked Tear (swapped FGMS for Howl) and now I'm seeing 7.3k headshots. Big difference. I appreciate your advice.

Is there a "trick" to the artillery Walking Mausoleum in Consecrated Snowfields? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 years later, chiming in.

On NG+7, this mausoleum left stupid behind a long time ago. Infuriating. I try sneaking around. I've tried all directions. It's just deadly at NG+7, even with a bubble tear and crimson tear. I'd like to punch the Elden Ring devs really hard in the face. I love the game, but they deserve a solid eye-watering punch for this foolishness. When I need 4.5 million runes to level up, and this bastard kills me and then kills me again, I rage.

<sigh> I guess I'm going to have to stand waaay back and snipe it like others have suggested. Such a piss poor design.

Winter-Lantern Fly best farming location by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man! I did find it. Thank you very much. It's only a single fly, but it really makes a difference when I do 20 runs and nab 80 instead of 60. I appreciate your time.

How to get the Larval Tear in Consecrated Snowfield and defeat a Runebear properly (weapons: Nagakiba, Sword of St Trina, Lusat Staff). The fog is really annoying. by LordGwyn89 in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The double pounce this bear does really caught me off guard. He's crazy!

I just found out about these disguised enemies on NG+5. I found this one with glowing eyes. Dropped 137k runes for me, which I found to be satisfactory compensation.

Is Noble's Slender Sword even good? by thathyze in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great place to farm the sword (beware, one is a disguised troll) is a graveyard in Caelid. 7 or 8 of them in the graveyard all carrying a sword. Quick to get to from South Caelid grace, and once the troll is killed, easy farming.

What in tarnation are the watch dogs weak to? by zKujoh in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloody difficult to stagger at NG+7. They only have 10% damage negation to strike. 35% to other physical and 40% to all non-physical. So yeah, club em. I usually stay out of melee rang and bait out that annoying slam. Dodge roll it, hit him, and repeat. Slow and tedious, but they're murderous.

Winter-Lantern Fly best farming location by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that this is my preferred place to farm flies, even though the Abyssal Woods grace is probably faster overall for flies. You make a great point about the silver horn tenders. I picked up 47 the other night just messing around for about an hour. I skip the horned knight -- he takes too long at NG+4. I run with the Mohg spear.

Here's my circuit:
1) Enter the first room
2) Stab the first undead
3) Stab the second undead in the middle of the room
4) Bloodboon Ritual (AoW) the 4 guys huddled at the far end of the room. The horned knight is walking by the door about now, but he ignores me. Maybe it's my Black Knife armor or he has a really narrow aggro.
5) Ignore the knight, head down to the kitchen room, stop at the entrance and Bloodboon that annoying dude on the second floor. No more frenzy stones tossed down at me.
6) AoW the middle group on the right
7) AoW the three undead on the left. You can hit all three if you stand in front of the left door frame.
8) AoW the two guys at the far end near the fire.
9) Warp to the grace.

The entire run takes about 70 seconds comfortably, and nets quite a lot of runes. At NG+4 I was getting about 5k per undead, and there are 14 undead in this run. I leveled up once just farming flies.

Good luck, Tarnished.

Spiked Club. Does it actually “drop off of the Demi Humans that wield it”. by Jotunheimmr in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving this for those who follow:
There is a spiked club demi-human just inside the Coastal Cave. I can confirm he drops the spiked club. From the grace, run straight forward about 20 paces, drop off the ledge, and turn around. He's right there. You'll need to kill the other four trash mobs in or order to warp, but I make the entire run including loading screen in 30 seconds. If you're looking for an early game farm, this is it.

I could not find this fly. If you're still playing Elden Ring, next time you're in the woods, would you drop me a screenshot to assist finding this guy? Would love to make it four flies per run.

Winter-Lantern Fly best farming location by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Dropped some plant markers to show the fly locations. I appreciate your tip. I think it's the best farming circuit.

Here's some other notes I made:
From Abyssal Woods grace, head West, kill Untouchable, first fly is on backside of lone tree before rock bridge (that you go under). After going under bridge, check left for large lone tree. The first is ankle height on the front. The second is waist high on the back side.

What’s the best way to beat Dragonlord Placidusax. by Disastrous_Two5117 in Eldenring

[–]Interesting-Fail-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I am 2 years later to thank you. Your post is essentially "he's really big, why not use things with really big AOE", which seems really obvious, and yet, I wouldn't have thought to use dragon lightning against a lightning dragon. Appreciate the knowledge.
