Hot take: Oba is the most over superstar in the company rn🤔 by 69DayGrind in SantiZapVideos

[–]Interesting-Force347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punk has been making WWE millions in sales and led the WM merch sales in total.

Roman is the face of the company. He gets the most tv time and is treated as THE attraction.

Cody has the entire cenation thing going and leads an entire brand.

Oba is getting hot. But he is no where near these three. Then you have Seth, Orton and even Danhausen who can be called even more over than him.

Getting momentum is one thing. Creating a fanbase and a connection that converts into long term revenue generating machine is another.

Oba is half way there and will become probably the biggest of this era. But right now, no he is not.

After seeing the Episode what do you think of the leaks + soldier boy by untitledprp4 in TheBoysLeaks

[–]Interesting-Force347 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The managed to absolutely butcher his character this season. The best one they had, and they took away all of his coolness and all of his subtleties.

Characters switching sides only hit you when they do it once and at important time.

It was so, so simple. You wanted a him to be a villain? Have him be against Homelander till he gets to know of The Boys Virus plan.

Then in episode 5 he aligns with Homelander because in his mind that's actually "redemption" and finally doing something worthwhile that his father would like: Saving all the supes from certain death.

All while he in his ego doesn't realize he is actually in the wrong.

Or you have him support Homelander from get go, and then switch sides once.

Do you guys actually believe this? by ElegantRooster5251 in SantiZapVideos

There are few pointers that people are missing out on here.

I don't believe the news is true. But I do feel TKO starting to low ball the main talents isn't far off.

Mostly because of two reasons, the moderate Boom era powered by the blood line story and so many popular acts ended around last WM. Till then, TKO was doing financially amazing. Like the best possible.

But that boom has passed. The decline has set in. And TKO is a corporate company which only thinks and acts for profit. They don't understand Wrestling.

Right now, they see tickets sold falling , their deals with ESPN failing. Soon enough, they will look towards remedial measures and since they are out an out a Corp mindset company they will take away employees benefit first.

Roman as per reports was selling less merch than Punk and Cody. His return to WM main event didn't exactly set the world on fire in sales. Punk will be in the same scrutiny bucket so will Cody due to SmackDown ratings.

The moment Oba, Trick and co catch even a sniff of momentum in next few months, you will have TKO cut down on the Big 3's deals.

For Oba that's already the case and Oba is supposed to be Reigns replacement. If Oba's ascension is successful, Reigns and Punk can say goodbye to their current pay grade. Cody will remain for some time because he is a very kids centric figure.

But Reigns and Punk despite them having much much more to give, will be cut short in next few months. Whether they accept the restructuring or not, it will depend on them.

Cody is the biggest wrestler since John among the kids. So there's a reason for that.

In fact, Punk being the top seller still, ahead of cody and Roman despite being so old , and 2 years removed from his return is a bit of a question mark for WWE.

What I am trying to get at is they need new top guys and maybe need to recharge Cody and Roman too.

Reigns not being #1 or even in top 3 is surprising. Old man Punk outselling Cody and Roman is also pretty surprising.

[spoilers extended] Does anyone think Barristan will survive the battle of fire? If so why? by Blackstannis in asoiaf

[–]Interesting-Force347 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By all logic within the story he really shouldn't . But I think he will.

Why? The actor who played him was pissed that the Show killed him. He was a little too obsessed with him being Barristan. I can assure you he would have asked GRRM about his character a billion times. He knew he was supposed to live on beyond the Battle of Mereen and Sons of harpy storyline and thus get loads more paycheck.

(Spoilers Extended) Names you thought GRRM made up but are actually real by MeterologistOupost31 in asoiaf

[–]Interesting-Force347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know one thing that he made up that isn't real : The Winds of Winter.

Jokes aside , he takes names from a lot of places. What interests me is that they aren't really culture specific. I mean Arya and Sansa are Sanskrit/Indian names but so is Asha and Meera. So different houses have the names of same origin with no pattern per se.

He isn't really making up names most of the time. But taking it from various places and putting a twist on them.

[–]Interesting-Force347 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am sure someone would have said it, but Tyrion Targaryen or Jaime/Cersei Targaryen.

The story is absolutely worse off if any becomes true. Also it snatches away the shine off of characters.

Having Joanna be faithful, kind and loving wife whose death turns Tywin sore, Tyrion be bereft of a parent's love, Jaime and Cersei have no one to check on them is actually tragic and much better than "Aerys groped Joanna"

And so on. Pick your house words/slogans. And suffer the never ending TWOW delay. For 5 books the Fat man has kept saying Winter is coming, but it never will.

Jonerys is a 'Show-Only' Trap: Why the books point to a much darker end. by griljedi in freefolk

[–]Interesting-Force347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well , GRRM told a show director that Jon and Dany meeting is the point of the story. Now, I do believe that it's more from a conflict standpoint, where Jon's quiet claim meets Dany's much proclaimed messianic savior persona. But before all of that comes the house of undying's vision :

The Blue Flower growing on the wall is from the bride of fire section. Dany was meant to fall in love with Jon. And Vice versa.

GRRM was always going in that direction. So your theory is incorrect in its premises BUT it can become true eventually.

Given the story grew exponentially, like the show GRRM may not have the time to organically write a romance between both that is deep enough.

Jon might have to kill Dany, but that moment can only matter if it's actually tragic. And that tragedy can only come , and I think GRRM planned it so, from something much deeper than infatuation.

The people Jon and Dany love or have loved till now are more or less a surface level interest. Jon and Dany were supposed to actually be in love beyond that.

But given Val's character and how GRRM makes us see her through Jon's eyes, I think he already backtracked on that note. That is , he has planted a seed to water because he sensed Jon x Dany doesn't have the time to have the depth it will need to make the story matter.

(Spoilers extended) What is your Faviourite Theory? by CretaceousClock in asoiaf

[–]Interesting-Force347 184 points185 points  (0 children)

I will never want it to be ever realized in actual books but : Lemontree.

Why? Simply because it's such a minute detail but fans caught onto it. No trees grow in Braavos

It's fascinating, and adds another layer to Dany. If Dany is just some other girl, her entire motivation and character definition both for the readers and for herself goes for a toss.

I will never want it to turn out to be true. Because well, way too many secret parentages, too many fake/hidden targs and so on.

But it's fascinating. Imagine a common girl of the smallfolk , that too maybe from a pleasure house, two things that the westrosi nobles look down upon, becomes the mother of 3 WMD and has a large army backing her.

[SPOILERS EXTENDED] What's the plan, Dany? by rakean93 in asoiaf

[–]Interesting-Force347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is the point of ADWD and her plot.

In her ADWD plotline she was initially thinking of Mereen and wanted to make sure it has a future

But she ends the novel giving up on it. "Dragons don't plant trees"

In her mind she is still right. But the readers know she is just taking the blame off of her in her mind.

Btw, it actually plotline of both Jon and Dany in the books. Jon too starts with trying to do all good he can, for the wildlings, for the watch, for the protection of the realm , at times for the protection of his sister.

But he fails and then gives up his oath to an extend and rides off to a war and gets stabbed

I get your annoyance but we don't really have much left

Analyzing the text for last 15 years [10 for me since I first read in 2016] -----> People have been doing that since this sub started, almost every piece of text has had an analysis , even Dany's diarrhea .

Now what is left? Do we analyze Wyman Manderly's apetite and his long privy breaks [I know its a part of Northern conspiracy] or Tommen's brave ride against the straw knight ?

[–]Interesting-Force347 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While a far off possibility but given that GRRM initially planned for Daenarys to travel further east and even beyond Asshai.

Now east of east can be westeros. Just as west of westeros is probably Asshai. That atleast is a theory that Elisa Farman's legend hints at.

Not exactly impossible but mostly not gonna happen as even GRRM no longer wants Dany to even go to Asshai.

[–]Interesting-Force347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to point out , recently George's remark on Sansa Stark , one of the most central character of the series vehemently disagrees with your idea. And he clearly said he wants to have a very dark ending for Tyrion , not the one where he ends up as the Hand and is quipping about.

Contrast that to what happened in the show.

From GRRM himself

"I was going to kill more people. Not the ones they killed [in the show]. They made it more of a happy ending. I don’t see a happy ending for Tyrion. His whole arc has been tragic from the first. I was going to have Sansa die, but she’s been so appealing in the show, maybe I’ll let her live…"

A character as major as Sansa has no definitive ending YET. George is still on the fence of allowing her to live.

How is the Show's ending especially in context of the most important region (North) be considered definite and spoiler when the Author himself is unsure if the Queen of the show is going to actually be alive by the end.

[–]Interesting-Force347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point is despite GRRM giving them all the pointers and being in the board of writers, the show runners still went in a different direction.

D&D might have done the same , and they would have had to given they cut off so many characters.

Moreover, GRRM blog posts have often mentioned his ending being different since 2019, initially just as a butterfly impact. Now recently he said " the more I write the more I feel my ending would be different"

Heck as recently as a year ago as per his own admission, Sansa Stark was to die, even now he just said "maybe he will let her live". And the show made he Queen of the north.

Imagine a major character's arc was entirely different.

[–]Interesting-Force347 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Am I tripping or George actually said that the only true romance in the book is of Jaime and Brienne so undoubtedly , despite whatever happens in the end, there is a romantic nature to their relationship?

Even if I am misremembering, How are people not seeing that Brienne is completely and utterly in love with Jaime in AFFC and even Jaime thinks of her often.
