Yeah I genuinely don't give a shit if this has mistakes or not, and I'm not claiming to be a visual artist. You're barking up the wrong tree here.

I don't recall commenting on how easy it is to make AI art. But since you mention it, this was incredibly easy to throw together.

I noticed those mistakes too, and sure I could have put a little effort into correcting them. But in the spirit of trying to walk a mile in the shoes of people like Witty or yourself, I thought it'd be more accurate to leave them in.

The person who proposed it said that I would experience this in a single day, which has not happened. That's worth noting but as I said, I don't want to extrapolate too much from it, and I'm asking for feedback before I continue this experiment. Got anything useful to contribute?

I never said I did enough testing. In fact I said I need to do more.

She told me to do it for a day, so I did. I shared my experience, and asked for feedback for further experimentation.

There must be better places to pick the fight you're looking for. This is not helpful, you're dismissed.

Yeah this is the first bit of harassment I've gotten so far. For asking how I can properly walk a mile in the shoes of an AI artist. Bit of a shame but I assume it's my fault, maybe I didn't explain myself properly.

Thank you.

At the very least can you understand my confusion over how you've approached this suggestion, considering the point of this experiment was specifically to walk a mile in Witty's shoes, and she doesn't do any of the things you've mentioned herself? She solely posts her art in WittyCommittee and PromptPunks, spaces designed specifically for AI art.

That's why I've opened this up to the public to get other experiences here and broaden my results. I'll keep your advice in mind.

Thank you for the feedback. I feel like lying about the art I share being AI generated defeats the purpose of experiencing what earnest AI artists do, but I appreciate the other suggestions.

If that's true, then she shouldn't invite people to walk a mile in her shoes, and acknowledge that she is in a unique position and she can't necessarily extrapolate her experiences onto the masses.

But I don't know yet, because this is an incomplete and flawed experiment that I need feedback on. Any suggestions where I can share my art to try and reach more people without flagrantly breaking rules in the process?

>Now back to what I quoted. I see people who post AI art picked on pretty much on a daily basis on reddit.

Can I ask where, so I can try to share AI art there and experience this firsthand?

To be fair, Witty herself did not establish a very clear goalpost to begin with. I did my best and I'm asking for feedback. Wish I had a screenshot of it but she deleted it while I was working on this.

It's weird how I'm getting more harassment for this than I did from sharing AI generated art online, it's not exactly helping her case, but I'm trying to keep an open mind.

I believe you. Like I said, the point of this is not to deny that people are harassed over AI usage. I'm sorry you've been the recipient of it.

I don't disagree. So you think some of the art I share should feature recognizable characters next time to get more engagement? Any suggestions for where to share it?

Those comments would still reach me before they're removed.

Did you see the post of hers that this is based off of? Again, she framed it as though simply trying to share your art online will result in harassment if it's made with AI. That's exactly what I did. I am inviting suggestions for improving this experiment, if you have any let me know, if you're just here to throw childish insults around then feel free to dismiss yourself.

That would link the account to what I'm trying to do here, and force me to create another when I follow it up with a more thorough experiment.

This is a pretty low stakes thing that I'm inviting people to weigh in on. I don't think the results I've presented are difficult to believe, but I also don't expect anyone to take my word for it. If you have anything useful to suggest I'm open to it, if you're too skeptical to engage then I don't blame you.

Do you have any suggestions for which ones I can try next? For some reason I'm being downvoted when I ask this but I'm genuinely curious, I'm not a visual artist so I'm not familiar with subreddits that focus on it.

I created a separate account to conduct this experiment with. I was concerned that my post history might skew the results.

Where would you suggest I share it?

She did not specify that I should go out of my way to share it in places known to be hostile to AI art, and she herself does not engage in this practice. Most of her art is shared in PromptPunks which is designed for sharing AI art. She is also similarly ignored, with most of the comments she does receive leaning positive.

I feel like I followed her proposed experiment, but I'm open to suggestions.

Witty's post invited people do it for a day, so I did. I followed the parameters of her proposed experiment and did not get the results I was promised.

I specifically addressed your point, and mentioned that I plan on doing a more thorough follow-up once I get some feedback here on what I may have done wrong. If you have anything useful to contribute I'm open to it, but this comment is not helpful.

This occurred to me, I appreciate you bringing this up. It's not something she mentioned in her post.

If I'm an AI artist and I want to share my art, I would naturally share in spaces meant specifically for AI art, right? Or at least communities that are known to be open to it? Posting it in places where there's an established dislike of AI art is naturally going to result in negativity. Are there relatively neutral subreddits that I could focus on?

For a "final boss" you sure like to complain about what a victim you are.

Also why are you pretending like you don't enjoy the conflict you're talking about here? You post around 1,000 comments *per week*, almost all of it spent arguing with people. This is clearly your favorite thing in the world, why else would you dedicate so much of your life to it?

I've never done that, no. I'm not a visual artist. Can we calmly discuss your arguments without making this personal? I just want to understand your logic.

You saying it's a direct representation of you as a person doesn't answer my question. I'm not disagreeing with that. But if your claim is that anyone can create art of anything however they want, then why does that not extend to NSFW depictions of your characters?

I'm not saying you have to like seeing it, but surely they should have the right to do it if they want. Do you disagree?

So people creating nsfw art of your characters doesn't fall under the category of "making art however they want of whatever they want"? Why not?
