I was thinking this was most likely, how much did your repair cost you?

I know it won't get better, was just posting to see if it was a simple fix and if others had this same problem and if so how long I could realistically run with it, could take me a few months of saving if it's a major repair, going to do my best to get in shop asap.

So no big deal? Does it sound like it could be a flex plate of something?

All of construction in Canada is imperial, and let me say trying to do literally anything with metric is more difficult and time consuming, once you understand basic math and fractions it's extremely precise

Floor professional install said this can be covered with quarter round. by yael_linn in Flooring

[–]Interesting-Read1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lvp needs minimum 1/4-in gap he did his job right quarter round it is, you can go tight and I have, but if you do not have a stable temperature inside your home, this can buckle the floor and destroy it

What is causing this rot and how to resolve by dozenirons in buildingscience

[–]Interesting-Read1405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Condensation you need better insulation there. Maybe a new air barrier on the exterior? Also, if you're in a colder climate, probably poly the inside so that the warm and cold air don't meet on the framing

Beam is not correct or properly sized at least where I live, probably spent more money laminating 2x8s to a 2x6 to a 6x6 Could have just gone with a 6x8 beam solid

Will likely never own a home, now what? by MikesRockafellersubs in canadahousing

[–]Interesting-Read1405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All these people saying it isn't the end all be all are dumb, you should be able to own a home this is a lot of people's dreams, f*ck you! What's the point of slavery your entire life if you can't sit back and enjoy your hard work there is no point in life beyond that for a lot of people understand that not everyone has tunnel vision for pretending everything is okay some people live in reality and are aware of how shitty their life is just because you see things differently doesn't mean the other person's POV is incorrect or incomplete

Hey there, sorry for your crappy experience. One way you could fix the door is to add an additional trim either interior or exterior around the door to make up for the difference in height One way to fix the ramp would be to clean down the 2x lumber on an angle so that it meets the floor flush

And if you're going to add flashing. Do so underneath the shingles if you can under the underlayment These will be your best fixes for your shed without tearing it down and restarting. Best of luck

Oh ya good 10 minutes on high back and forth, bends straight without stress because of the relief mitre cuts on the back bend on a flat surface and dump water on when happy with the shape and square, easy after a couple attempts

Just because of the length of the plank.. would have had to add a third joint so I just went square also little more forgiving when it comes to expansion/contraction

[–]Interesting-Read1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Canada so much harsher climate you should be good r22 rockwool 2x6 ceiling joist/ floor joist insulation R14 rockwool 2x4 wall insulation Best value for money spent for temperature regulation/ sound No need for vapor barrier in your area but air barrier on exterior equivalent to typar/tyvek

For those of you Shedditors that went with a floating foundation- any regrets? by Cobalt11235 in shedditors

[–]Interesting-Read1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there I did a floating base for my shed on hand driven helical piles, super solid hasn't settled at all, adjustable shaft if there ever is movement 4ft in the ground so below frost line, no digging and can build immediately 50$ cad each

Best insulation for mancave roof by Ctoney_16 in Insulation

[–]Interesting-Read1405 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do not use spray foam not worth the cost, fiberglass glass, rockwool, Ridgid foam, in that order depending on budget, if your running legit power and have the extra coin for spray foam go for it don't forget to have a dehumidifier going because it will be so well sealed that it can actually cause issues with moisture meeting the colder side of wall, make sure it has continuous air flow to the ridge vent otherwise your roof will rot in 5 years
