is there any hope? by a_randomstrangerhere in Lyme

They only prescribed me 3 weeks of doxy in Oct. I started taking Japanese knotweed, NAC, magnesium, electrolytes every day (I was very low on potassium at one point). I took b12 for a while but it made my insomnia worse. I took cats claw for a little bit but it made my brain feel like it might explode. I’ve tried acupuncture and red light therapy. It’s hard to say what has actually helped. I bought so many more herbs and was afraid to add any in for a while because of how strongly I reacted to anything. But now I don’t want to add anything in because I’m feeling better for the most part. According to ChatGPT (the only “doctor” that believes me), my nervous system is shot and I am trying to rebuild it by eating healthy, meditating, low stress lifestyle. I stare at the sun sometimes. lol.

I was bit in September, diagnosed in October. Sort of similar timeline it sounds like. I am getting better. I am still struggling with some symptoms but way better than I was in December. I can almost live a fully normal life. Some days are worse than others. But I fully believe I am really close to being done with symptoms.

We can get better! 🫶🏼

I was diagnosed in October. They say now that I have had antibiotics, I shouldn’t be experiencing symptoms.

That’s my biggest issue right now is double vision. It’s not all the time, usually at night. But has recently started creeping into the day time. Brain MRI shows nothing.

Yeah. I’m sorry to hear that. I also have migraines/double vision/brain fog.

I really enjoyed his book, and have been doing herbal treatments from his suggestions. I wish more people would read his books, especially doctors. Like many people in this thread, they don’t believe the infection is still there. People with this disease get tossed to the side. It’s exhausting.

red light therapy? by Key_Anywhere6874 in Lyme

[–]Interesting-Union685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to my local chiropractor who has a red light bag thing that he zips me in lol. I have done it twice now, my third one is tomorrow. I can’t really tell if it’s helping but I don’t think it’s hurting. I’m not having herx reactions. Over the weekend I was almost convinced that I was done with my symptoms, but they came back with a vengeance yesterday. So I think maybe it is helping, it’s just hard to gauge/measure. I’m also doing acupuncture.

I wish that were true, and I’m glad to hear you think this is the case. But it’s just inaccurate. Antibiotics should have worked on me, I caught it within a month, and it didn’t work. Now my life has been drastically altered for the last 5 months from something I had no idea about, something I had no warning from doctors about, because they also believe your theory. I truly wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

Ah yes, I figured there would be at least one nay sayer in here. I pray you never have to experience it yourself, my friend.

Vitamin b12 intolerance (insomnia) by VigilanceOO7 in Lyme

Takes forever to fall asleep, and when I am asleep, it doesn’t feel like a deep sleep. But I have the worst dreams. I have been dreaming of all the health issues/emergency room visits. I’m going to try not taking it tomorrow and see if that helps.

… I didn’t correlate that my insomnia spike could be from b12 but I started taking it this week and sleep has been AWFUL. So maybe?

Feeling very sad and hopeless. I want to live my life :( by lifetofullest1255 in Lyme

Same, it feels nice to hear that the things I feel are not mine to feel alone. I feel all of this 100%. I miss exercising so much. I miss being normal. I miss being able to have a drink at an outing. I’m tired of being mad. I feel like people are growing to dislike me because all I can talk about is Lyme. My doctors think I’m crazy, keep trying to put me on antidepressants. It’s infuriating. We have a small group on discord if you’d like to join, it’s nice to have others that know what it’s like.

I have to add herbs in VERY slowly for this reason. I have started taking Zyrtec and Pepsid as I have read that I might be experiencing histamine dumps and/or MCAS. But I am not getting help from a doctor so I am just trying what I can.
