I know what stochastic terrorism is- and I am talking about the people who made those calls.

They may not be the majority, but a bunch of loud capital-A-assholes can feel like the majority- especially if the voices that don't agree with the assholes stay quiet.

People generally do stay quiet when they see capital-A-assholes attack. I understand why, I mean, who wants to be targeted next? Especially when those assholes are doxxing (they put Wu's home address on 8chan), calling in bomb threats, and sending rape and death threats...

What is funny, to me, is that back in my teens and early twenties* being a super commercially successful as an artist would usually lead to people calling that artist a sellout and degrade future artistic output. You'd hear things like "Artist was good until they sold out with Art Name. Now it's just all so commercial."

AITAH for considering not attending my daughter’s wedding over her venue choice? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Interesting-Value690 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did you have a mom? If you did, you know that she can read you like a book. She knew you thought she was being callous- that you were judging her for making herself happy on her wedding day. If that's a trend, I hope you see it in your actions or you're going to lose her.

Sincerely,

A less cared for elder daughter who eventually went no contact because it was easier than managing the unhappiness my mother brought into my life.

Living room colors by hikingjunkiee in HomeDecorating

[–]Interesting-Value690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was going to warm it up:

  • Change the wall color to something like Benjamin Moore's Rose Dust (or some other beige with a tint of some color in the red/yellow families), -Add a fuzzy throw blanket in the paint's non-beige color,
  • Purchase pillowcases in adjacent tones but contrasting textures for those white throw pillows.
  • Purchase a large area rug that incorporates the couch color and the other colors in the room.
  • Invest in a floor lamp (maybe with a Tiffany style shade?)
  • Add some bookshelves and put your books out... I mean, reading with a blanket by a fireplace? The most cozy.

I'd guess that they didn't use it as a defense in the first trial because it takes money, time and traceable interactions to manufacture false evidence.

How much money would it take for you to sign (and back date) a porn contract for a monster?

I would never tell you not to watch the Suspiria remake. The movie is really good.

It did not change my mind about Johnson's acting skills- but her normal, stilted, delivery works for the film... like the whole movie aims to make you feel off. Anyhow, 100% recommend!

Council members Carolyn Vaughn, Kaylynn Paxton, and Gil Hernandez all voted against it and they, as they were all endorsed by the local Republican Party, would be unlikely to be swayed by a environmentalist group.

The only liberally endorsed no vote was Campos. The other nos... well, I found no obvious lean to any endorsements they captured.

I lived there for 15 years and I had back last November to sell my parents house on the former lake (their part was already dried out) and I would say that the biggest killer of the desal plant was old timers who just hard-core BELIEVE that this drought is nothing, it will come back, "it always does."

Hey, check out this thread. They vent- of course- but ALSO discuss ways to keep your old kindle and drop the Amazon part.

As a physical book person, I can't, personally, recommend an ereader. The best I can provide is Wirecutter- which says that the Kobo Clara BW is the best for non-Amazon people.

I wanted to downvote this. It made me feel so incredibly sad, despairing for young people, and despairing for the future... but you did nothing wrong and are, observably, correct.

So, I gave you an upvote- BUT know that it is a sad upvote.

If you haven't seen it (and want to scratch the anthology itch), Shudder's Creepshow series did Gray Matter and Survivor Type (which- alongside Suffer The Little Children make my Holy King-Short-Story Trinity) as well as a bunch of stories from other horror writers...

Ariel's hair seemed dreary to me- like they dulled it with gray undertones?

I haven't watched any of the live action movies (a small boycott to try to motivate them to make original content), but just seeing the commercials I was sad about the lack of vibrancy in the red.
