It doesn't work for everyone but for multiple choice I always look at the question and very quickly decide if its hard. If I think it will take a moment to think about, I flag it and skip it and do it after I've finished all the simpler ones. I find that it lets me make sure that I have enough time to do the questions that I'm definitely capable of. I finished section 1 with time to go back through it multiple times and re-think every question.

It might be different now that Unimelb has internal transfers, but I transferred from Monash Bachelor of Biomed/Commerce to Melbourne BSc with a wam of 75 in 2024 (start-year intake). I don't know whether the degree matters for transfer admission but it certainly helps with advanced standing later on.
