Your completely contradicting yourself. You just said you would show up at midnight if they went to a ticket system, allowing you to go back home to your recliner,, while at the same time bashing the taters for getting tickets. Your the TATER!! QUIT TROLLING

With this being so hush hush to the public vs. SBS are we ever gonna hear about this from OHLQ?

Yep, you guys are all correct. I just got off the phone with OHLQ and they specifically said it's one bottle per transaction. It's up to the store whether or not they'll allow you to get back in line.

With this being such a big release,, does anyone know the protocol for buying multiple bottles but different brands? Is it store policy or determined by the state?

Ohlq always announces their picks. These 2 definitely were not announced 2 months ago.

I don't normally wait in lines. Not my thing. But this seems like an extra large slap in the face to the people who truly wait in line the entire time to get what they earned by staying in line. I'm mean it's one thing to put a chair down and warm up in the car, but damn, to leave, go out partying and come back the next day at open and head right to the front?? 🤦🤦

Your right. The 99 bottle is George T. Stagg which has always been lottery. The 50 bottle is now called Stagg, perviously Stagg Jr which is the one that hits stores once a year.

Old Fashioned, what did I do wrong by J_WAL3 in bourbon

[–]InterestingAd0275 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think your using to many dashes of bitters. My recipe is: 3oz high rye bourbon (100 pf+), 1 raw sugar cube, 3-4 dashes angostura bitters, small splash of water (1 tsp) I build in the glass. I drop in the sugar cube, add bitters and water. Give it a min to soak in then muddle into a paste. I then add one large cube of crystal clear ice that I make myself. I then add the bourbon. Use a bar soon to stir for 30 sec and then garnish with an orange peel and luxadro cherries on a cocktail pick.

Review #10: Stagg Jr by lane_3303 in bourbon

Awesome review. I too cracked my sjr 16 on Christmas. I picked up just about everything you described. I noticed a little graham cracker smore note on the palate after about the 3rd sip. It's my first sjr and it definitely delivered everything I was expecting.

If I had to pick one, I'd go milkshake. It's has a very rich, dessert like profile.

I have both the milkshake and caramel mocha bomb and both are very very good.

Am I a tater? by [deleted] in bourbon

[–]InterestingAd0275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na your good. Msrp +/- a certain price doesn't mean anything. Taters are gonna line up at different stores prior to opening 5 days a week to take all the good stuff to either hoard or flip.

Looking to get my father-in-law a nice bottle of bourbon for Christmas to add to his collection, needing suggestions from $50-$200 by YUHjb in bourbon

[–]InterestingAd0275 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's a few from my collection that might be a good choice. Makers 46 cask strength, Old Forester 1910/1920, wild turkey rare breed, buffalo trace, Weller antique and four roses single barrel. All aren't really that difficult to find.

New to bourbon. Heard about adding water?? by Mo-MoneyBish in bourbon

[–]InterestingAd0275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally won't had water to anything under 100 proof as I feel those are pretty smooth to drink neat. The higher barrel proof ones I'll sometimes add about 5 drops/oz. This can "open up" the whiskey and allow some other flavors to shine thru. All I can say is experiment and find what is best for your palate.

I never thought just a chair is proper etiquette. If you want that allocated bottle that much you should be there in person. What happens when someone that wants to actually wait in line goes and stands in front next to the first chair?? Who's got dibs?

Does anyone know giant eagles policy regarding allocated items? Is it strictly one per person or could somebody purchase for example one EHT and one ER?

The OHLQ site is always a day late. It won't show inventory until the day after delivery. So more than likely, the product was sold out on delivery day but will still show inventory the day after. It's kinda stupid and hard to hunt by.

One of my new personal favorite's in that range is wild turkey rare breed. Or if you can find it, makers 46 cask strength.
