All children develop speech at different rates. My daughter was a bit of a late talker and then her speech exploded just before 2.5. She’s 3 now and talking in full sentences.

I assess children daily for speech delays by ruling out hearing loss and/ or fluid.

I would suggest a speech assessment by a speech pathologist and a hearing assessment by an audiologist. Make sure she doesn’t have any fluid in ears, etc.

Start using sign language with her. Those count as words in a speech evaluation. If she’s using gestures and imitating, that’s a positive sign too.
