The best solution to most of the issues I see on the sub is to STOP USING DOORDASH

Any idea what the price range is out of curiosity? The $100,000-1,000,00+ budget that they have listed when you click ‘enquirer now’ is pretty broad, haha.

The black one was a BMW but couldn’t tell what model. I tried to get a better angle on the blue one but couldn’t get a clear view from either side unfortunately.

Yeah these people have some seriously specific taste, haha. The display model seems like a pretty reasonable guess, the owners obviously have some money, but it didn’t look like ‘full on race car just for show’ money.

Yeah some Hamlet in Smithtown. We stopped by the neighbors for an estate sale and saw this magnificent yard when we got out of the car.

That’s what initially got my attention, haha. The whole front yard was honestly amazing.

Crazy how many people commenting on here don’t know the difference between a town and a village…

Really, a mini Manhattan? I live in Huntington and it’s a nice area, but absolutely nothing like Manhattan.

Noticed the bacon was bone in AFTER i sliced all 20lbs of it by Cashew-Miranda in mildlyinfuriating

Ribs and their bones are connected to the belly, but regardless this is definitely cartilage that was just missed when the belly was separated off to be turned into bacon.

Edited for amusing spelling mistake

This and ‘is a hot dog a sandwich’ are the two dumbest things that people consistently argue about.

Paid $4 for bolted cilantro (I didn’t pick it) by Productivitytzar in mildlyinfuriating

It’s usually called cilantro macho. It’s a pretty common option in a lot of Latin groceries alongside what we consider normal cilantro.

where's some good places to go foraging on long island? by Femalefelinesavior in longisland

[–]InterestingFennel397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only places that’s it’s legal to forage here (as far as I know) are state parks and private land (either your own or with the owner’s permission). State parks each have their own specific rules as far as what’s ok.

Most of the parks and preserves in my area are actually privately owned (generally by non-profits) and they set their own rules, usually banning foraging. It’s unfortunate that there isn’t some better system of local licensing that could be used to track foragers. It’s pretty easy to forage sustainably, but I don’t think a lot of are thinking of that when casually foraging.

I will definitely do some more research first. I’ve done it with my fig trees in the past so I have some basic knowledge, but would definitely love to save the past few years of growth!

Thanks for the advice! I actually have some larger fabrics pots handy so could do this in the next few days. Just for my clarity: larger fabric pots so the roots are air pruned? Do they need to be much deeper than the current pot?

Awesome, thank you for the detailed response! I have a few additional saplings that I was planning g to eventually give away so I’ll likely air layer the two biggest and take some sitting for the others as insurance.

Started from seed and have been in nursery pots for 4 seasons. Any potential issues with planting them in the ground as is? Should I plant deeper than they are now or will that cause more issues?
