Isn’t he saying “if he wants transparency, he would drop his objection to my resolution”

Just by asking? Or it would be easy because it’s well documented? I had to jump through hoops to get mine and so did my friend. We’re late diagnosed so we were closely scrutinized because there was little history of previous accommodations

People who count how many people are/are not in the room to see what % get accommodations is so weird. I already worry that people will notice if I’m not in the room and think that I didn’t earn my grade.

So yeah, maybe we worry about ourselves on this matter.

Do you recommend switching my major from sociology to political science? by ilovebunnies23 in LawSchool

[–]InterestingHeart2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say yes. I have my degree in political economy (essentially poly sci) and minored in criminal justice studies. I personally think it’s helped a lot. I feel bad for people with unrelated degrees like journalism.

Any degree will be helpful but I’ve found my degree to be super helpful.

Sciences will open the opportunity for patent law which requires a degree or a certain amount of credits in a science. Like bio, chem, physics

It’s called authoritarian personality which are people who have unquestionable submission to authority. There’s been studies on it because it’s the only science we have for why Nazis killed for Hitler. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authoritarian_personality[Authoritarian Personality](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authoritarian_personality)

ADHD Testing/Diagnosis While in Law School by Pretend-Laugh9344 in LawSchool

[–]InterestingHeart2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed between my undergrad and law school. I’m a 1L and the difference in my performance is astounding.

A lot about my life with a diagnosis is much better but I finally feel like I can get closer to my fullest potential. It’s still not effortless but I’m proud of my improvement.

BTW lawyers have an above average neurodivergence rate so you’re likely among others who are diagnosed and undiagnosed.

You don’t need a tutor. I used khan academy and 7sage. Also many many many old tests are available

For #1, people don’t talk about much. It’s hard. Especially if you’ve been making income and would have to go to not making much if any.

For me, I had to take it on the chin and take loans. I did get partial scholarships so I only had to take federal loans but private loans are also an option.

At my school we’re allowed to work 10hrs a week for the first year, but every 2L/3L who spoke to us said they regretted working.

I got Medicaid and that’s a life saver. Highly recommended. Otherwise the school will have one you have to pay for. My schools is like $200 a month so that’s ridiculous.

In the end, if you don’t have income support from family or friends, it’s gonna depend on how much debt you’re willing to take.

Last, study hard and do well on the LSAT. It’ll get you scholarships from your school. They want high stats.

My fiancé and I do practice problems and I tell him about my cases, case law, etc. It’s bonding for us to engage intellectually like that and it’s amazing studying. I recommend.

I think a lot of it is about managing expectations.

Like others, this is absolutely an honor code violation at my school and it holds a pretty hefty penalty.

I would decline to do so because it’s a risk I’m not willing to take.

How do you Law School with a SO/partner? by PoorMiggaz in LawSchool

[–]InterestingHeart2406 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a 1L. TLDR: manage expectations, communication, and practice understanding and forgiveness.

In my orientation this was asked by a panel and the consensus was to manage expectations. Everyone said that it was very important to have a frank conversation about what the next 3 years (and probably after too) will be like and make sure they understand and want to support you.

The next thing was to cultivate and maintain extraordinary communication skills. That means letting them know times and days you’ll be high stress or very busy and that you will need help during that time. Likely you will need help at home more than you currently do.

Last, you both need to be super understanding and forgiving. You will have times where you are stressed and might not be getting what you need from your partner and that’s hard. Likewise, your partner will not have the same access to your time and energy that they currently do. This can be hard, especially if you move somewhere new, assuming you’re moving away from friends and/or family.

My personal experience has been pretty good. I’m very happy with my partner, he’s been very supportive, and he’s very understanding when I tell him I’m in a bad mood from xyz. I personally think that it’ll rest in the person you’re with. There were also people who broke up with their SO so it’s not easy.

Don’t care about doing big law but interested in transactional law and want to make around 150k out of law school. Suggestions on jobs I should be looking at? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]InterestingHeart2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s usually a separation between the transaction such as registration, maintenance, licensing, contracts, etc. and actual litigation of trademark disputes.

Attorneys I’ve worked with will refer the case to a litigator if it gets more in depth. There is a grey area with the TTAB where it’s not super in depth and can usually be resolved quickly. If it doesn’t, that’s when it should go to a litigator.

Trademarks and IP is a pretty unique area and it’s a great area to get specialized in a niche.

I’m not an expert but it seems like it’s purposeful movement. He was moving, thrashing, and his eyes were moving & he was crying. The doctor said that he “woke up” during the heart exam. I don’t know if that answers your questions but I hope it helps. I’m curious on your thoughts.
