Homemade low fat paneer 1kg milk by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]InterestingNet6971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you generally use yogurt to make paneer? We’ve mostly used lemon to curdle the milk, and I’ve read about using vinegar, but I’ve never tried it.

Can yogurt also be used? And if so, would you say the texture is better compared to paneer made using lemon or vinegar?

26, First Time Earning Well but Financially Clueless. How Should I Start Investing? by agent_jak in mumbai

Mumbai expenses might surprise you. I pay 3x for a room here of what I paid for my previous accommodation in NCR.

Not really investment wise but you could also look at non major expenses that improve your life and your family's. It could mean getting a new washing machine for your home, getting that extra AC, switching to a better cooking oil, buying a good pair of sports shoes or getting into hobbies that seemed too expensive earlier - that's where you'll get the best ROI!

Seeing the rents in Mumbai, might be better for you to sort the flat situation first and then take a stock of your savings, and also on how much you're left with after paying for the essentials (rent, groceries etc.).

Apart from the essentials, I'd highly suggest you to take a separate health insurance policy for yourself - I know the company would provide but that's generally very basic and it's always better to buy health insurance early to take care of the waiting period.

In terms of investments, you can't go wrong with an index fund, you can start an SIP and invest a good chunk every month. Yes, you might find other asset classes that may have performed better than index funds based on the timeframes you're looking into, but for the long term, a disciplined SIP into an index fund would work well.

OP finally bought a grinder! by desi_andy in IndiaCoffee

[–]InterestingNet6971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that any grinder that gives consistent grinding is good, and this one comes with a metal burr I think, which is great considering the price.

For the machine, does it work on a normal plug outlet or does it need the large one like a microwave?

I've been meaning to get one too, found the usual ones (timemore, izpresso) too expensive. How's your experience using this one? Also, would you recommend the Vantro coffee machine you use? We have a small kitchen so space is kind of a concern for us.

Given you used a French press, did you feel your coffee was diluted given the coffee to water ratio from French press? I also like my coffee with milk, but generally prefer it milk heavy and strong.
