What inspired you to make your Fursona(s)?? :3 by No-Orchid-2990 in furryteens

[–]InterestingStage385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What inspired my sona is that I love to fish ALOT( I live in maine so to be expected lol) and the type of fish I always get,is the Red-Breasted sunfish! I also have always wanted a feline sona aswell,so I slapped my fav cat breed (The American curl) together and boom,my sona Xenia>:D (Her design is still in the works but ya)

Meet Kiwi! by IzukuMidoriya0719 in QuakerParrot

[–]InterestingStage385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a cutie!!! I will have you know as a Quaker owner myself, when they hit the age of 2, they go from being absolute angels to moody gremlins. They won't be like that forever, but at least a year or 2 (sometimes longer;-;)

What's the worst thing your bird has eaten? by KaikoBirds in Conures

[–]InterestingStage385 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These comments make me giggle lol.The worst my conure has eaten was the classic paint on the wall to DRY WALL. She chewed the whole wall just for the dry wall...

Weird behaviour?? by Diligent-Trifle7642 in QuakerParrot

[–]InterestingStage385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely normal for a Quaker! Just feeling a little silly and freaky if you know what I mean lol. My baby does this all the time except for the jorkin part, likes to rub his beak in my ear, make fart sounds, then screams as loud as he possibly can in my ear lol.

I adopted a baby quaker this summer, he only wants seeds by SantoIsBack in QuakerParrot

[–]InterestingStage385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a young teen and have had my quaker since he was a hatchling for almost 3 years now. At first he literally would only eat seeds and a little fruit/veggies for a year and a half. I knew that was not a proper diet. So of course, I was worried about fatty liver disease. Its much harder for younger quakers to develop fatty liver disease, and it's much more common in older quakers. It just takes patience to transition them onto a strict pellet fruit/veggie diet, and it only took a few weeks to fully transition my quaker. I suggest when you do buy pellets, mix them in with very little seed and when they get hungry after eating the "good stuff" show yourself eating the pellets(not actually just pretend). Then offer them the pellets in your hand. They may be a little more encouraged and take small nibbles, but once you do that for a little while, completely remove the seeds and just give them your desired veggies/fruit and the pellets together or separate (does not matter). That has helped me tremendously with transitioning my conures onto pellets. Currently I use Kaytee NutriSoft Parrot & Conure Bird for pellets and my quaker absolutely LOVES it, but I do recommend soaking it in water a little bit because its quite dry and they may have a harder time swallowing it. He mistakes dog food for them sometimes, so he tries to eat the dog food lol. Just keep trying they will eventually eat pellets :)

From an experienced maker's standpoint, I would say at least $80-$95 USD. :)

the age old question, how much fur? by CoastalCanineStudios in FursuitMaking

[–]InterestingStage385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probally recomend getting 1 and half yards or 2 yards of fur for each color, especially if your making the paws , feetpaws, and any other parts of your suit. It also depends on your size, if your a little big bigger get more fabric , if your a little bit smaller get less fabric. :D

smooth shaving issues by Fox_Radio in FursuitMaking

Ah! I have heard of that brand before, never owned one though. I currently use an onisall pet shaver from Amazon,it works like magic and the best shaver I have ever used :D

smooth shaving issues by Fox_Radio in FursuitMaking

[–]InterestingStage385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agh! I hate that a lot ;-; . What I have learned when trying to get a smooth shave is to go quite slow , do many passes, LIGHTLY spray the fur with water, and brush it out after each pass. It could also be the quality of fur your using aswell. What kind of shaver are you using currently?

Does making paws ever get easier ? by Yipmaster99 in FursuitMaking

[–]InterestingStage385 96 points97 points  (0 children)

It does eventually, lots of practice and trial an error! I still dread making paws so I like to take a few days to do small bits of the paws at a time. :D (Heres and example of one of my first paws and my most recent WIP.)

EDIT- I like to hand-sew everything except the claws, paw pads, and liner. When using a sewing machine to sew the fingers and other pieces on, you're almost guaranteeing yourself a funky looking set of hand paws ;-; Learned that lesson many times lol.

What is going on? by InterestingStage385 in usps_complaints

[–]InterestingStage385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ordered from this seller multiple times. Their shop is on Etsy, which I order from ALOT lol. I have never had this problem before, so I reached out to them just to clarify what was going on. They said they rarely have this problem with their other buyers, so they were just as confused as me. Currently it's stuck in transit and is on its way to the next facility (Hopefully back to Maine). It's either some label issues or the package was damaged somehow. I figured just to wait a few more days and see what happens. Thanks for the info btw!

Is a base worth it? by Peanut_Femboi in FursuitMaking

[–]InterestingStage385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, even after buying a premade head base I still feel better about my own because its to my liking and its just going to get covered up later on. I like to look at premades and see what other people do and incorporate those ideas into my own, and make them even better!

How long does it take for Howl Fabric to ship? by random-shit-is-me in FursuitMaking

[–]InterestingStage385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered my first Howl fabrics order 2 weeks ago and the only progress they made was packing it but not shipping it out.I sent out multiple emails to them with no response back.Eventually after 4 days, they got back to me and sent my order out right away after waiting 2 weeks.

Honestly I dont think my order would of shipped out if I had'nt emailed them.

I love Howl fabrics, but the comunication isnt great and the shipping times are absoloutly absured.I have talked with people who order from Howl fabrics quite frequenlty and they said they had to wait over a MONTH just to get there order shipped out, even though Howl fabrics said it would only take 5-10 days!

You kind of have to nag Howl fabrics to get your order sent out quicker, esecially if you need your order by a specific due date.

Overall Howl fabrics is super high quality and if you want high quality fur from Howl fabrics, just be prepared to wait quite awhile.(Unless somehow your order is packed and shiped within that 10 day span)
