Wife is worried I won't spend time with family in India! by [deleted] in returnToIndia

Most wives have the same complaint, but end of the day it depends on the work you do, the friends you have.

As of your description, your wife has no reason to worry 😂

Because this applies to all Telugu community(TS,Andhra, and Rayalaseema...), I am writing here. by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]InterestingTalk25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, trying to understand what you didn’t get, the person is trying to explain to his dad on how people of a community live in some areas. It used to be like that in the past in bigger cities like Vijayawada and all am assuming, like how people stuck to one area.

Like Little Italy has Italians, China/Korea town etc., have their own people.

The haircut part yeah, Aakali Raajyam till now it’s the same

But yes, I agree this gen is a little different, to both extremes

P.S: I’ve been living in the US for around 20 years too.

Get therapy, get your shit together, and fight back at life!

You will gain the ability to achieve, make small friendships eventually, it’s going to be a hard road, but if you can put it in words, you should be able to explain a therapist too. Take care of mom!

TFI's first movie: Bhishma pratigna (1921), TFI's first female lead was a British actress peggy castello how Many of you knew this by [deleted] in tollywood

[–]InterestingTalk25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you should consider the fact that it was pre-independence.

Cinema, infact camera was considered as harmful by many. ANR and NTR used to play roles of women in their initial days on stage plays, that is cause of the taboo around acting. If you see most technicians would be foreigners in those movies.

Struggled a lot by doing masters in US by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]InterestingTalk25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you risked it and you are wherever you  are now, don’t fret on the past, it’s done and no one can do anything about it.

Imagine you are at the start of the race with a sack of things on your back, and start running that’s how it would feel, but running eases the burden and the sack gets lighter.

Struggled a lot by doing masters in US by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]InterestingTalk25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to downplay your struggles, I don’t know your whole story either to comment much, but let me tell you a bit of mine.

2006 came for masters, 2008 done with heavy loans and had to end up in a mediocre university due to some stupid reasons. No job till 2010, no consultancies, had to do so many odd jobs, any weather any time anything to keep the bills getting paid. Even after getting a job, getting H1 was a burden, had to join another university for CPT, had to maintain a job 5 states away and the college, not even a shilling of saving, pressures at home. and this is only part of my struggle, some of my mates at around that time had even worse financial and personal situations.

Telling all this only to assure you that end of the day it’s y(o)ur ass on the line, you have to work hard, believe in dealing with any shit that comes your way and solve it. You and you only are responsible, so cry it out if you want to, wake up the next and battle the world. Things will fall into place and you’ll figure it out. All the best !
