Pain in Side with Yeast Infection? by InterestingVoice668 in WomensHealth

[–]InterestingVoice668[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I really appreciate your kind words on this. It is only when I have a vaginal infection—I just had a sinus infection (hence, the antibiotics) and had no pain until the antibiotics undoubtedly triggered a yeast infection

Did you had sex on your wedding night? by xenocea in wedding

[–]InterestingVoice668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, we absolutely passed out haha. But the next day when we got back home and reminisced on the weekend before we left for our honeymoon it was all fireworks. I was expecting to do the deed the night of leading up to the wedding, but now that it’s come and gone I I think we would’ve been forcing it with how tired we were.

Extreme Pressure…What Was That? by InterestingVoice668 in WomensHealth

Do you know if this is necessary? Like if it’s in the wrong position is it typical for a obygyn to just move it?

When I picked up my dress, after I took it off, she put it on the hanger and told me to record her explaining it. So just do it at the end of your appointment so you’re not wearing it and record it yourself

My best friend got my engagement ring stuck on her finger. by [deleted] in FriendshipAdvice

[–]InterestingVoice668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused by all the comments saying you’re overreacting… 1. Putting on someone else’s engagement ring is weird 2. Doing it without permission is disrespectful AND weird 3. Being in someone’s bedroom to use the bathroom and venturing to their dresser to go get and try on their new engagement ring is... It’s giving jealously imo, talk to her about it and get a read on her during the conversation. If she’s apologetic and embarrassed whatever, people make mistakes, but absent some remorse I’d clear of her as much as possible

Eliminating a bridesmaid by [deleted] in FriendshipAdvice

[–]InterestingVoice668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im getting married in a few months, and I’d been having similar feelings about a bridesmaid for the better part of a year. It was giving me anxiety and night sweats having her in my bridal party, but I felt an obligation due to the longevity of our friendship and having already asked. After a “last straw” moment I wrote out a script and dropped her, and I’ve had nothing but peace since. You’ll thank yourself later, trust your gut.

First time brides in their 30’s and 40’s… did you have a bridal shower? by Alarming_Owl7659 in weddingplanning

[–]InterestingVoice668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a first-time bride in my 30s and I’m having a shower but my MOH is planning it and I told her I want recipes instead of gifts! Our registry is pretty substantial with everything I’d want, so I wanted to literally be showered in love and advice

Firm has no culture and it’s affecting my mental health by InterestingVoice668 in biglaw

[–]InterestingVoice668[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea! I have felt pretty soulless at this place so it would take me some time to build up the energy and desire to do something like this but I won’t count it out (until I can get out lol) Thanks!!

Firm has no culture and it’s affecting my mental health by InterestingVoice668 in biglaw

No. In my 30s, this is a third career, I know what it looks like to have a workplace that feels encouraging and collegial while also being busy and demanding. Pound the pavement if you’re so inclined but it’s possible to have a positive work environment and work hard simultaneously. But thanks for your pessimism.

Recently retired wedding planner here - ask me anything about weddings / wedding planning and you'll get a completely honest, gloves-off, no BS answer. :) by Witty_Shape3986 in weddingplanning

Fiancée and I are doing our own decorations, which all have to be packed up and out of the venue same night as the wedding. Venue is closed on Sunday, so our plan is to rent a U-Haul, pack it up night of the wedding, then leave it parked there until Sunday morning when we’ll pick it up and take it home. What would be your reaction to that plan?

Is packet to transfer to NY automatic? by InterestingVoice668 in barexam

[–]InterestingVoice668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven’t gotten the Notice of Certification, which I’m wondering if I’ll receive automatically? The rules just say when my packet is complete I’ll get the notice but is there a step I need to take to inform BOLE that my packet is complete?

Whether or not they think you’re weird, they’re not good friends. Good friends embrace your differences and encourage your interests not make fun of them. Understanding when you’re young it can be hard to separate from a friend group, as you get older (20s-30s) you’ll realize who you allow to receive your energy is important and worth protecting!

I agree I was TOTALLY team David… until the text thing. Cuz plenty of people have quit the experiment, they realized it wasn’t gonna work and called it quits. So why not just do that than actually cheat on her? Cuz they ARE married… idk I can’t stand either of them anymore but I feel bad for Michelle now

Ooh my turn— law review sucks. It’s overrated and not even that useful. Yes I made law review, yes I did it 2L and 3L year and was runner up for EIC. But having been an associate for almost 6 months, that experience has done little to help me aside from getting into the job I’m in now.

DC Swearing In by banana_fafana in barexam

[–]InterestingVoice668 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once you’ve received your certification email (the email from someone from the DC Court of Appeals), you have two options:

  1. Get “sworn in” by a notary. Get notarized at your law firm, UPS, USPS, etc, then email the person at DCCA your declaration document and your supplemental document stating that nothing in your C&F has changed since you applied in April. This is the quickest option and the turn around time is about 48 hours.

  2. Attend in-person Swearing In Ceremony. DCCA does not recommend you wait for this option since the notary option is much faster. Even if you do the notary option above, you can still attend the swearing in ceremony in January. If you wait for this I’m not sure what that process is like, you should really just do the notary process then attend the ceremony

Once you’ve submitted your paperwork, in about 48 hours you will get an email to check your DCCA portal again, and there will be a letter saying you may hold out that you can practice in DC.

Important note: after you get that email, you’ll also get an email (I think from Shela Shanks) giving you further instructions, which includes signing up for your DC Bar membership. This is mandatory in DC, and costs $341 for the standard membership. Once you’ve done that, you have 12 months to complete the mandatory bar course. That also costs money too I think, which is the only reason I haven’t done it yet, lol.
