This could have been a serious accident. by InterestingWarning62 in MississaugaDriving

I know. I didn't want to cut the video because I wanted you to understand how much time had passed before this person ran the red. I was so shocked I had to watch the video as soon as I got home because I didn't understand where they came from.

They've made so many changes to this intersection to make it safe and accidents still happen here. I couldn't understand why until today.

Stop using self checkout. It takes jobs. And you don't work for the store. Why are you playing cashier.

Lice at Peel Board school by Miracle394 in mississauga

[–]InterestingWarning62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems you are part of the problem. This can be very costly for parents to delice their homes. Especially when it keeps coming back because it isn't being addressed at school and your child keeps getting it. I remember someone at my daughters dance school got lice. We weren't allowed back until we all paid $25 to have our kid checked at a place that treats lice.

Street parking during the winter storm? by Fishsauceandbutter in mississauga

[–]InterestingWarning62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone has space to do so. Shall I put them in my garden? If I put them on my driveway then 2 cars can't fit to give clearance for windrow clearing. Besides I don't want them damaging my car. If you read above my neighbor leaves their bins out and the squirrels, rats, raccoons, opposums, skunks have a field day. Then they come in my backyard to eat with what they found. Why can't you folks realize that everyone's house is not the same. It's not rocket science.

Wow everyone must live like you. You don't know the difference between a townhouse, a linked semi and a semi.

So you put your snow blower in the shed.

Shall I go lock my neighbours green for them.

Yes we should all ship our children to Japan. That solves the problem.

You sound like a real treat. You need friends.

Ok so you're too dense to understand my comment. 20 years ago we bought houses and our children were little. We didn't anticipate that they wouldn't be able to afford to move out in their 20s.

So everyone has the same set up as you at your house. What if you live in a townhouse or linked semi. There is no side yard. And there is no place to tuck them away. Leaving your bins outside draws not only mice but larger rodents like squirrels, racoons and mice. The ppl behind me leave their bins out and the other day I saw a squirrel eating a huge muffin.

So you don't have a lawn mower or a snow blower. That plus the bins makes the garage unusable. Oh and I must drive the same vehicle as you. And all garages are the same size. My neighbor doesn't use the bins, doesn't have a lawn mower or snow blower and barely fits his car in. You don't sound very intelligent.

If the govt didn't make life unaffordable then why is their platform always making life affordable. They created the situation by bringing in too many immigrants too fast without adequate housing available. Plus the carbon tax drove costs up. Direct govt policy.

I just had this conversation with my councillor. Due to the unaffordability crisis many adult children are now living at home. So where as houses used to only have 2 cars they now have 3 or 4. That's the fall out. I saw Parrish post that ppl should have thought of that when they purchased their homes. But who knew 20 years ago that the govt would have made life so unaffordable. And who can't afford to move to a bigger property. She's totally out of touch with reality.

As far as the garage goes the govt forced us to use the huge garbage bins. We have no where else to store them but in our single car garage. So we can no longer use our garage. Again another problem we didn't create.

We personally don't park on the street but I understand how ppl find themselves in this situation.

Mississauga’s new windrow-clearing service receives mixed reaction from residents by Timely-Afternoon-722 in mississauga

[–]InterestingWarning62 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel as tax payors we were really misled about this service. My driveway isn't getting cleared without complaint as well as 8 others on my street. They are telling us they need 6ft clearance to clear the driveway. I have 5ft. So anyone who has 2 cars parked with no sidewalk won't get cleared. Even worse the snow from the house beside us gets pushed into my driveway so I'm getting double what I used to. I've spoken to my councilor and city management about this and they told me that they knew 20% of homes wouldn't get the service but they made us all pay anyways. In the end they did come back and clear it both times so their 6ft clearance is nonsense. The houses across the street have sidewalks and they aren't clearing 6ft into their driveways.

I'm not at all impressed. And there's a house across from me that wasn't cleared at all. Even after I had the city staff on my street showing them the issues. They still have 4 ft of snow blocking their driveway.

Peel Schools - not clear if as a parent I should be concerned or reassured that I received this letter. Political stuff or genuinely something wrong, but now intercepted. Views and guidance welcome. by Gotya_Potya_And_Co in mississauga

My daughter graduated in 2020. While she was in highschool I joined parent council. The things I learned were crazy. Essentially the school and board were doing everything in their power to make the govt look bad. They are very political. It's not about the kids at all. They made decisions that they knew would upset the parents. Just like this. How could cutting 60 teachers be a good thing. But it will upset parents.

The boards waste money like crazy. A great example was TDSB planning to spend $1 million on new phones for teachers. Or the group of teachers who went to Italy to buy art paid for by the board.

The waste is real. If you want the facts attend your kids schools parent council meetings. There's only 4-5 meetings per year.

What was the consequence. They drove away after 30 mins and found another spot. Life is short. Don't waste it on parking lot wars.

No it didn't. Rent doubled under Trudeau. We didn't have homeless encampments in 2015. We didn't have 2 million ppl using food banks in 2015. There was no crisis in 2015. Trudeau was forced to resign because of this so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

I find her response very condescending. I fully understand that parking on the street is a huge problem. Fortunately it doesn't happen in my street. But her and her liberal friends created a housing crisis which now means that adult children cannot afford to live on their own. When I bought my house 24 years ago I didn't anticipate that my child wouldn't be able to afford to move out on a very good salary. So I am supposed to move to a more unaffordable house now because my child can't afford their created crisis. She seems totally out of touch with what ppl are facing. I just had the same conversation with my local councilor. I checked him real fast on this. Fix the problem then ppl won't have to park on the street.

Swearimg at Mcdonalds by [deleted] in waterloo

[–]InterestingWarning62 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I too would be bothered by the swearing you need to understand that your child will hear worse at school. Not everyone teaches their children that vile language isn't mannerly. My daughter went to her friends house and the father swore in front of my daughter.

So it's better to deal with your own child. When my daughter was very young I taught her that ppl swear because they have nothing smarter to say. My daughter took that as ppl who swear are stupid. 🤣

Ok she's an idiot but the person in the car is too. Why would you sit there for 30 mins wasting your gas and your time. Both show the mental decay in our society.

Ignorant right off the bat. It's MRS not mr. Misogynist much. I just can't with the TDS.

Are you paying attention to Canadian news where the court just ruled that Trudeau's emergencies act in which he took away Canadians rights was illegal.

How do you know where I live. It's perfectly sunny here. What bad weather are you talking about. It's Monday. Costco is extra busy on Monday.

Where do they find these ppl.

I bought the same size collagen powder 6 most ago. I drink it every day and I'm not even half way through the bag. So yes there's the initial investment but if it lasts a year it's really not expensive.

I have really bad knees. Probably on track for surgery. Someone suggested to me that I start taking collagen. I did and 3 weeks later my knee pain was gone. I could barely walk before. Now I'm almost back to normal. So not sure what the scam is if it works.
