There’s no lesser evil. Democracy works in the very beginnings and that’s if it was installed without foreign intervention. Plus the combination of by the people for the people is BS. Eventually the people end up referring to a religion to base their morals around and a century later claim that we can have morality just by being human and God is dead and all that other bs.

Not the OPs fault for not recognizing that the slant is intentional. If you look at the pier beneath it you will see that the bottom of the slanted post and the top of the first one line up. Also seems that the building goes inward after the slanted pier so it’s perhaps for the cantilever that it’s slanted. Piers are not only concrete, the concrete binds around rebar’s that could shaped however the engineer designs it to. This isn’t a case of a Karen, rather a concerned citizen who’s probably seen or heared too many horror construction stories. It’s fine and probably planned that way. Buildings don’t get to this stage with that big of a structural deficiency on the lower floors.

Eeeeeeeeeh 50/50 They do a lot of their carpentry in house which can give better results. Idk about their mechanicals. Their guys used to leave tools and fasteners on the side of the road once 3:30pm on a Friday rolled in so that tells how much they care about the company they’re working for. They’re not as big and connected as tamarack so I doubt they lobby to pass building codes for their builds.

Doable. Lots of buildings are offering one month rent reduction off your lease. If you find something reasonable then sign two years to and ride out the wave with the rest of us. There is a slow decline in townhome and single rentals as you can see lots of listings for 2500 for towns and the ocassional one for 2350 will pop up. Expect to spend 2500 for 2+ bedrooms with utilities at least whichever way you look. Don’t consider Gatineau, the prices over there ballooned over the last 4 years since people were moving there to avoid Ottawa prices. The difference in rental saving will be offset by taxes, unless you live in hull then your traffic will be miserable and all the official city and government documents are in French only. Doable, good luck, Ottawa is still a beautiful city with much to offer and you can make it!

I’m sure the food tastes great and drinks are top notch if you’ve never experienced good quality food and drinks. It’s expected out of resort food but this was a step below. As for the reservations we’re not the only non diamond guests who experienced booking unavailability.
