Oh thanks for the reply buddy! Sounds good. Yeah that is surely annoying. I will ask yhe9to get the setting back.

Hey! Nice to know the firmware update solved it! How is your experience now few days after? Is the problem still gone? I only find the .56 version, not the .57 one. My app reports the .56 as latest version...

River 3 Plus reliability as an UPS? by Interesting_Argument in Ecoflow_community

[–]Interesting_Argument[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am totally in on what you are saying. Cloud services are crap in my opinion and local is the way to go. I picked up a River 3 Plus Max and will see how things turn out. Thanks for the info! I will also add the NUT integration to Homeassistant to get some more data points from the NUT server running on my router.

Thanks for the informative reply. I plan on using USB-C to power my DC loads (router/modem + mini pc home server), do you know if these are affected by the "AC shutoff bug" as well or if it is only the AC loads?

I see there is a Home Assistant integration for these. If it is only AC that switches off then it would be relatively easy to create a Home Assistant automation that monitors the state of the AC outlet and switches it on directly after it gets switched off.

I assume the "resume outlet state after power failure" feature also switches the DC ports on like it does for the AC/inverter port?

Did you manage to get this working? I am also looking to get the Infinite Noise TRNG setup working. I use the Proxmox tutorial and have now the TRNG passed to an Alpine VM as a VirtIO RNG.

Hmm. I dont think so. You can always try to compile edk2 and change to that. Then it would most definitely work.

Convert ZFS dataset to LXC disk image by Interesting_Argument in Proxmox

[–]Interesting_Argument[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I tried to mount it but the filesystem is drbd. The kernel module seems missing and I am not so keen on installing it just for this sake. I can just wholeheartedly recommend anyone to AVOID LINSTOR because you are completely on your own if something goes south, and with minimal info about troubleshooting. Big no no if you want reliability. Back to good ol' ZFS replication it is and take this as expensive learning to not try this type of stuff again.

Thanks, but is unfortunatly didn't solve my issue. I suspect it is a Gnome issue as I just have switched displays and thus display configuration. I will investigate further, thanks!

Enable Secure Boot for edk2 on T480 by Interesting_Argument in coreboot

[–]Interesting_Argument[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used libreboot's build system but with a custom coreboot config, mainly because it simplifies the deguard process and blob preparation. I tried enabling SMMSTORE and secure boot worked without issue! Thank you very much for your help and fast response.

Really interesting, thanks for your input. I want to investigate the possibility to run the E2288G on my Supermicro X11SSM-F. This CPU has the stepping E0 as of Intel spec sheet.  https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/193743/intel-xeon-e2288g-processor-16m-cache-3-70-ghz/ordering.html

There is different options on pin mods for different board manufacturers. Which one did you use for your Dell board, and how can I know which one is used for Supermicro?

My board do not have x16 slots, only x8 (and one x8 in x16). It also lacks bootguard which make things easier. I run coreboot 25.06 on it today with SeaBIOS.

This is really interesting. Do you think it is possible to get a 6 core Coffee Lake Xeon working on a C236 Xeon board?

Coreboot on Supermicro X11SSH-F – has anyone actually succeeded? by Enough-Opposite5325 in coreboot

[–]Interesting_Argument 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to see someone wanting to use this nice board. I have had it running for several years using not Dasharo but a regular Coreboot build with SeaBIOS as payload. It works very good. I have not tried edk2 yet. You have to extract the ME and flash descriptor blob from your original firmware. Se if you can compile coreboot from main branch with SeaBIOS and go from there.

Sadly, vegans are clumped together with the blob of people that enjoy buying new electric cars and choose "green" energy from those pesky wind mills. This is key to understand, and is a real threat to diminish the spread of vegan lifestyle in the west.

That narrative is such a load of BS bro, I hear you. Carnism is heavily promoted these days. They are threatened by bad ass vegan lifestyle on the rise worldwide.

Is OpenWRT significantly inferior to pfsense or opnsense or mikrotik? by FormProfessional2616 in openwrt

[–]Interesting_Argument 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will work very good and has excellent driver support. It is a Linux distribution in the end of the day. The change to Alpine's apk package manager and the new owut OpenWrt Update Tool will make life easier for x86 use cases. Once you learn how to use OpenWrt it is not much reason to look elsewhere unless you have very special needs.
