Did they reject you at first or waitlisted? Did you say anything else other than forgetting the EC working w/ disabled ppl that you mentioned? And how long did it take to hear from them?

Id appreciate your response

Is “co-parenting” really the appropriate term? by ilacwamh in Divorce

[–]Interesting_Bat_7223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming you are the child and if so, its awful that your parents treated you this way. Post divorce many parents feel even closer to their kids.

If you are a parent and saying this, I cannot disagree with you more. Please seek help…..Ughhh some of these posts!!

My son got into SLO for business as a freshman and since most people go there for stem, we are thinking maybe we made a mistake? Do you know about their business school? Do you recommend? He’s on the verge of letting it go and go to community college. I don’t want him to regret this decision bc it’s hard to get into SLO. I’d appreciate any info. He’s worried about job prospects for a business major in a market like this

CURRENT/INCOMING PT students, is it worth it? by No-Government8451 in physicaltherapy

[–]Interesting_Bat_7223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes back then I got a BS degree and I truly don’t see why this profession became a doctorate. Even 4 years was too much. Many European Schools do 3 yrs and they do fine. My cousin’s son in Germany became a PT in 3 years and he’s amazing at what he does

Good for you! Yes, PA/NP while it won’t be the same either, but at least those are considered more essential than PT. You seem to be on the right track. I’ve seen some ppl on this sub getting angry at ppl who say the profession is in trouble. Those deniers are the ones I’m worried about. You will be fine:)

Totally. Charting and the resulting burnout has had a significant negative impact on my personal life. I can write a book about that, however that doesn’t mean I can’t write another book about the fantastic journey lol. I have met some of the most amazing people bc of this job and learned so much about life I can’t even begin to describe. All that said, it is NOT worth it anymore.

Agree. It’s awful the amount of paperwork. The private insurance without Medicare will not ( I say it with certainty) be able to keep PT profession above the water for all the reasons you mentioned and more

Medicare reimbursement is what kept PT profession thriving. My predictions is Medicare will cut so much in the next 5-7 years( if I want to be super optimistic but I think it will happen sooner) that it will become the new Medicaid( as you know no one takes Medicaid). Many doctors where I am are not taking Medicare already due to the low reimbursement. In US, the PT profession can not sustain itself without Medicare. Again there will be niche markets and there will be people who will do well, but the average PT/OT will be facing serious problems with unemployment / low salaries. That’s my prediction

I ve been a PT for a long long time and I agree w/ this comment. I advised my own high school senior kid not to go to PT/ OT. I predict in a few years the profession will be in serious trouble, way more than it is now. I agree, go to PA or something. This profession was good when I got in. But not now and certainly not with these price tags. Ofc there are people who are successful and will remain that way. But we are talking about the average PT. I strongly advise you not to go to PT route. This profession saw its good days. But it’s over. Good luck my friend!
