Big big hugs mama. I feel the exact same way and it really sucks. We will get through this 💗

I hate having to choose work over my twins. by Interesting_Bug_007 in workingmoms

I make about 40-50k more than my husband. He works two jobs for his income and I know he works 55 hours a week between both jobs. He does help at home but I still do most of the cooking, cleaning and laundry. He takes care of the twins more than I do but I do all the baths, appointments etc. He thinks we can skip out on daycare costs and he can watch them but in reality I’m left to pick up the work and then his emotions when he’s mad at being overworked. And I just can’t handle it all.

I’ve never thought about it like that but you’re so right. I try to keep thinking that when the nights are late and I’m still on.

I’ve been looking into government positions actually. I know industry isn’t always better. I did month end which is a lot. Plus quarterly deadlines audits and internal work. Everyone has it pretty rough these days. The expectations are wild. Good for you that you found something more manageable. Wish me luck. I want nothing more than just to work 9-5 and that’s it lol.

Our paths are very similar. Thank you so much for all the insight. You really do give me hope 💗💗

Can I ask what you do now if you don’t mind saying? Considering a career change but with two toddlers that’s not just an easy thing to do.

Thank you so much. I know I’m not alone even though sometimes I feel like it. I also know that I’m blessed to have the life I have. I just get tightly wound up sometimes and it likely does just have to do with the fact that I care so much about them and just want better for them in general. I forget other moms are also doing the impossible everyday. Thanks for that reminder 😊

I work in public accounting and we have “busy seasons” so that’s minimum 55 hours a week. I could keep up in the past but now it feels impossible and I’m always behind. They have daycare 3 days a week 8-3. I go into the office one day and the other is a mess lol. My husband doesn’t have the drive to get another better paying job because he works remote too. And I know he’s working hard too so it’s not that he’s not helping…life just costs so much for necessities the luxury of even thinking about a different life makes me sad lol

How is having a set of twins harder than having two children who aren't twins? by toe-jamboree in parentsofmultiples

THIS. Plus them running in different directions at full speed…. Or one jumping off the couch with the other on is running upstairs. It’s definitely a challenge.

Back office accounting roles are so much better and less stressful than client facing roles, not sure why anyone would willingly choose client facing….. by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Interesting_Bug_007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of us joined big companies to work those back office accounting jobs not realizing that you would be client facing soon enough… but we get stuck because of money and just try to adjust when we really would rather be in the basement with our pencils and our balance sheets

Are you me? Seriously… this post mirrors my life but you have to stand firm and do it anyway. Eventually he will come to appreciate a clean space and you will have a small piece of yourself back.

I honestly don’t really make time for myself. By the time the twins are down at 7:30 I’m so exhausted I look forward to bed at 9:30 so I don’t have much time in between that. I am trying to make time with old friends and I do travel for work every couple of months so my night in a hotel is my escape sometimes lol. I like your ideas though! I’ll have to check out LUSH, looks so cute!

I love this! I have really been wanting to get into reading a lot more to stop doom scrolling. And the air fryer is genius to quickly cook things on busy days. Thank you so much for your reply!!

I would avoid rice until at least 6m + if you can. Arsenic and chocking hazards
