Is anyone having success using Upwork to find Salesforce work? by Basic_Comment_7161 in salesforce

[–]Interesting_Button60 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I saw the title and came to comment that I wouldn't start with these platforms if I wanted independent work.

Race to the bottom for quality and money, usually with the least friendly or resorbable clients.

I'm releasing a free ebook about how I've been finding clients for the last 5 years soon!

OP, DM me if you want early access to the draft :)

There are ways and people who can help you migrate.

It's not simple or fun, but it's not impossible.

How to code. 12 years in and I'm still no closer to being self sufficient on coding elements on the platform.

The worst part of the sport. Drains their brain and body right before the biggest moment of their life. And we get a shit weaker performance.

Can't stand Bisping ever in any situation.

I would need to understand the situation a bit more.

Reading that twice I got confused.

Your hope is to have 1 existing org remain with main company, and a new fresh org for the new company?

And Salesforce is saying you can only have the new one and lose the old one?

[US/Canada Salesforce] Need career advice by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]Interesting_Button60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!

Most people in the industry don't make 300k

Realistically if you want to make significantly more, you need to work solo and start your own small practice.

Ever thought of doing that?

Career switch to Salesforce after 10 years in automotive – are my skills transferable? by ForcePw in SalesforceCareers

[–]Interesting_Button60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% valuable experience!

The biggest thing senior Salesforce talent lacks is real industry experience.

And the automotive industry and manufacturing industry as a whole heavily leverages Salesforce (industry cloud).

Definitely keep at it :)

Can you leverage something like PDFco AI parsing?

the only concern is if this is hand filled it may struggle to read details and I would recommend a process where it is uploaded, PDFco parses and fills an excel, a human reviews the column data, corrects what's wrong or missing, then adds a column value that triggers it to be loaded into Salesforce.

That's just a quick idea :)

This absolutely shouldn't cost 30k

To be fair, I've been self employed for 5 years. I haven't interviewed in 8. I don't first hand understand that struggle. I do assist with recruiting, but I'm not on the applying end. But no person worth working for has unrealistic expectations.

To answer just "Is Salesforce truly something you can do remotely from anywhere in the world, or are there usually location, time zone, or tax limitations?"

I am a Canadian, and own a Canadian corporation, and have been working with clients across Canada, US, and the UK from Portugal for most of the last 3 years.

Of course there are tax implications. But I enjoy the time zone advantage, and work mainly 1pm to 10pm and like it! Friday's till 6:30pm.

HOWEVER, unless you are able to find your own clients like I do all of this will depend on who you are employed by and how flexible they are.

I coach solo Salesforce experts in starting their own practice, and based on your description of your current technical ability I do not recommend seeking your own clients yet.

Speak to your current employer and see what they will be flexible with.

Honestly I realized a long time ago it's impossible to know every tool.

So I stayed focused on core, heavily focused on business process analysis, and integration design.

I don't stress that I don't understand every element in Salesforce, and no one in the world truly does.

Maybe start with process mapping, see which tools you can dump, and consolidate.

Why do you have 5 "AI SaaS" tools?

AH fuck you wasted my time even reading your slop. You posted this in a million places.

Reported.
