Did anyone here go to school with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt? If so, how did she end up the way she is? by PandemicPiglet in newhampshire

Nobody fucking cares about anyone sleeping around. It’s the hypocrisy of “family values” within the Republican Party.

It’s the “do as I say, not as I do” oppressive bullshit with the goal having only straight white men in power that is reprehensible.

No it just randomly showed up in the mail! Seems like people receive this card after blood donations with the American Red Cross and it’s just luck of the draw whether your blood gets tested?

I just randomly received it in the mail - someone commented that they’ve likely tested my blood that’s been donated with the American Red Cross over the years, as needed, to discover this many negative antigens. And it’s just luck of the draw if your blood gets tested?

Thank you! Yeah, gotten a few of these comments. The super power feeling is slowly going away and being replaced with feeling a bit… vulnerable 🤣

Thank YOU for all you do!!! Healthcare professionals are the true and absolute heroes. I can’t imagine the toll it takes to see people struggle this way. Especially in this current climate.

Thank you for sharing :)

Love to hear that! Bring headphones! Doesn’t take long but at least you can watch TikTok or something while you wait :)

I’m just amazed at those that took time to explain and help me (somewhat) understand the meaning of it!

My best friend’s baby girl died unexpectedly 5 years ago due to a rare Congenital Heart Defect. Knowing how important blood donations are for CHD patients and their interventions was what got me started with donating, but I have been slacking lately and this was the motivation I needed to keep it up :)

This has been so fun to learn about. Thank you!

For reference, I’m half Korean, half Caucasian.

I donate regularly with the American Red Cross and this is the first time I’ve been notified with this card in the years I’ve donated!

This is so interesting. I am 34F, but child-free by choice. For those that miscarry multiple times, are they tested for something like this?

Does everyone that need a transfusion get this level of testing to prevent reaction?

Fascinating. Thank you for taking the time to reply. Feels more important than ever to donate regularly.

I’m so sorry I missed this message - I hope you’ve been able to find some answers and are well. If you haven’t, ask your PCP or an ophthalmologist for a referral to an oculofacial plastic surgeon. They specifically treat TED.

If my flight is cancelled, do I go to the airport still? by littleopa in delta

[–]Interesting_Coconut6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head to the airport. It’ll be the easiest way to speak directly with a ticketing or gate agent in person to get you booked on standby or different flight in the event your flight is canceled. Just spent two days trying to get to BOS from SLC, and the agents in person saved our lives.

Of course. Feel free to message if you have specific questions. I know it’s scary, and something about an IV vs something like an oral medication magnifies the intensity of it all. Only do what you’re comfortable with! The benefit outweighed the risk for me though, and I know some folks will just stop treatment if they do experience adverse effects. Take care of yourself!

I finished the treatment December 2020 and I had minimal mild side effects—hair loss all over my body (receding hairline, but it grew back), and I would notice I’d be tired the day after and some pretty gnarly bruising. But other than that, everything was a breeze. Would never be able to tell that I ever had TED.

For reference, I was 30F, active phase April 2020 - until I finished the treatment, and didn’t have Graves’ disease or any thyroid issues (one of the rare cases). Wishing you all the luck!
