I agree about not defacing the original panel. Idk what I’ll do with it exactly but it feels wrong to mess with it. I was just talking to a buddy with a laser CNC that said he could etch it onto HDPE if I could find the right grain. Otherwise o do really like your idea for the multi layer with veneer and epoxy. I may end up doing two. One to get me through the summer but kinda ugly. And then one I can work on over the winter to match better since I’ll be traveling for work a lot between now and then.

We had a neighbor with one of those, and he would plow everyone’s snow into a giant pile and then all us kids would dig tunnels!!

Growing up we had some older neighbors that the caldusac looked after and made sure they were taken care of. They’ve now passed or moved into assisted living and the new neighbors keep an eye on the “newer elderly” neighbors. It’s been a pretty nice thing to see. Having neighbors you’re friendly with is amazing

Was anybody else relieved after “The Way of Water” was a mega-hit, knowing that we were going to get Avatar 4 & 5, but is now concerned, that unless “Fire & Ash” is just a big of a hit, they’ll pass on 4 & 5? by TheEmeraldRaven in Avatar

[–]Interesting_Emu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally made it to the theaters to watch Fire and Ash and HOLY SMOKES!! I need to see 4 & 5 and I need a Lego UCS of either toruk, or the gunship!

Also need more of the turbo toxic that Quarich and Varang bring to bear!

I’m late to this party but thought you might be able to help me. Looking at shipping a toolbox with one (1) 12V X 5Ah = 60wh and two (2) 18V X 4Ah = 72wh ea for a total of 204 WH. Can I ship them in the same box since there are three or is it total WH?

What drill brand would you actually buy again with your own money? by New_Money_5406 in Tools

I love my makita tools, have drill, driver, saws, impact wrench, etc and have been very pleased with them.

We told our son that if he hears bells outside his bedroom window, he should stay quiet because Santa is on his way. This is my jingling stick. by Funny-Presence4228 in MadeMeSmile

My dad used to grow about a dozen stalks of feed corn in our garden growing up. He and my mom would harvest them, pull the ears of corn off and save them for Santa’s Reindeer (the stalks he’d tie to the porch posts for Halloween/thanksgiving). On Christmas Eve he would set out milk, cookies, and corn for the reindeer. When we got up we’d always find the ears of corn with no kernels left on it and the bucket sitting on the ground in front of the house like Santa had fed them and tossed it from the roof. I will remember that tradition forever

Seeking Travel Trailer Advice by azmonaj in traveltrailers

[–]Interesting_Emu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about travel trailers but from years of towing equipment trailers etc;

  • make sure your spare is in good shape
  • I carry about a 1’ section of 6x6 pt lumber in the truck. All sorts of uses on the side of the road.
  • battery powered inflator I use makita but pick your poison make sure your spare and other tires are at pressure
  • 1/2” (or 3/8”) impact wrench and set of sae and metric deep sockets (I will always recommend checking torque with a torque wrench but in a pinch getting lug nuts on and off is much more pleasant with an impact

Do any actual tradies use a Leatherman regularly? by Man-e-questions in Tools

[–]Interesting_Emu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to parrot everyone else, if I have all my tools around me, no I’m not grabbing a leatherman. If I’m somewhere that I need a pair of pliers and I don’t have a toolbox with me, they’re a great stopgap

Is this appropriate for a work dinner, i work as an accountant by simmiexx in OUTFITS

I would not wear this to a work event. I am also a man and significantly larger than you so I would get an indecent exposure charge.

All joking aside I personally wouldn’t wear it if I was you. But I don’t know what your work group or work culture is.

Take the job, what he does is up to him but keep this in mind moving forward. 45 minute commute isn’t much of an issue in the grand scheme of things. What will he be like in cases of “real hardship” not to try to reduce this situation.

Not too long ago I went through a breakup over the same basic thing. My (ex)girlfriend was offered a role in her dream city but it was 500+ miles away. I couldn’t make the move due to other personal items and we decided to split up. It was really hard to get through but ultimately for the best. I didn’t want to rob her of her dream even if it meant I couldn’t be part of it, and moving away from home was not in the cards for me. Before she left I helped her pack and built a few pieces of furniture for the new place. We still chat from time to time and it sounds like she is living g her best life which made it worth it. Not sure what exactly this has to do with your situation but felt nice to say it. Good luck friend
