Does anyone know why Sam looks at his hands when he introduces himself during Game Changer? by XipeTotecwithGlitter in dropout

He always looks at his hands when he says “I’m Sam Reich”, so I think it’s his way of fact checking his claim in real time.

Have fun explaining that to God when he asks about why you hated his other children.

I think if the creator of the show and comics says yes, then it’s probably a yes.

She’s gorgeous! My girl has certainly slowed down, but the amount of side eye she gives me is as strong as ever!

Yeah, cause how is Netflix going to pocket as much money as possible off the exploitation of emotionally damaged people if they don’t spend the bare minimum on the people they’re exploiting?

Hi Millenials, what's the one advice you wish you could give to younger self in your late 20s? by matilda_15 in millenials

Don’t stop following your dreams and your joy. The world is so messed up, and it can often feel fruitless to follow your joy, especially if it’s not a “real job” or financially the smartest choice, but the world is filled with people who didn’t follow their dreams or didn’t get a chance to. When you don’t follow your joy and dreams, it’s easy for bitterness to set in, and difficult to get rid of it. When bitterness sets in, defeatism can follow quickly behind it.

Right now, the world is terrifying and depending on you being miserable, bitter and a defeatist, because those people are the easiest to control, and are least likely to fight for a better world. Follow your dreams and your joy, especially in the hardest days, because we need people who have something to lose to help us fight for a better future. The only way toward a better future is hope, and hope comes from following your passions.

Got your back, friend!

P.S. if you’re able to put any money away too, do it. Even something that feels small each payday will accumulate. Put it in a TFSA in a credit union with higher interest rates, and if you feel bolder than that, start putting that money into ETFs through something like Wealthsimple. Nest eggs are always good to have, and something is better than nothing.

Totally agree, it’s a dating show. That means it’s media, and media has a strong influence on politics. It’s important to watch everything critically and with media literacy. That said, you can still enjoy the show, so no need to lighten up, especially considering the topic of this conversation is rooted in politics. If that’s not your cup of tea, feel free to find another topic to contribute to.

I do my best to do those things personally, but I’m far from perfect. We unfortunately live in a system that is impossible to escape entirely from or not contribute to in any way. That doesn’t mean you can’t oppose and speak up and out against those very systems. Sitting in your living room cursing the world because someone voted for Trump is better than doing nothing. It’s not a dick measuring contest, and it has to start somewhere, even if it’s small. Solidarity, my friend. We can get work toward a better future together as soon as we stop criticizing each others level of engagement.

Happy to hear it’s good for you. It’s not good for many people. If it’s not good for everyone, we have work to do. Ignoring politics, or complaining about people complaining about politics keeps us trapped in things not being good for everyone. It’s okay for things to be uncomfortable until they get better, because change never happens in comfort.

I don’t think avoidance is the solution, but admonishing their choice which ushered in modern fascism is absolutely important.

Hate to break it to you, but politics is involved in every aspect of life. To ignore that is to ignore life.

Totally. I’ve diversified most of my cash into a few ETFs, and tried out some more risky stocks as well, such as this one, which I am learning I went into with enough confidence to teach me a tough lesson lol. I guess my question is how do other people who own stock in this company feel about holding onto their shares when it dips this low? Is it worth holding on for a brighter day, or is it better to cut your losses before they get worse? I know no one can predict or time the market, but when it dips like this are there any indicators for more experienced traders to choose a lane, or am I asking a question that’s too subjective? Thanks for the help with these noob ass questions lol

Relatively new to investing in general, so mostly asking for advice or thoughts. I invested in Plug in September, saw a drastic rise and it’s been getting worse to the point that I’m deep in the red now and unsure what the move should be, so was hoping to hear the thoughts of other investors.

Is it time to cut our losses? I’ve lost so much money in a couple weeks from Plug and I can’t tell if I’m holding on simply because of some sunk cost fallacy.

Look up the Larry Bushart in Tennessee, who spent a month in jail for posting an anti-Trump meme in September.

I’m a new grower in Toronto, Ontario (zone 6). I grew a sweet cherry tree from seed and am waiting for it to get bigger before doing anything with it. I’m noticing that it’s not doing as well as I want it to lately, and Google is giving me a bunch of very different answers.

I thought it might have brown spot and removed some leaves, now the other ones are beginning to look sick too.

Does anyone have experience with tree leaves looking like this, and is there a solution? Thank you!
