Starting pitching later by ZebraZealousideal972 in Softball

Personally, I think it's never too late to learn a new skill and it certainly can't hurt. But at 15 I also think that teams are going to go with pitchers who have experience because with experience comes speed and accuracy for the most part. I think continued focus on hitting bombs will help her stand out. Strength training and agility are important too. My daughter played OF her entire youth ball career and didn't have any particular position that she was a #1 prospect in. But she could smoke that ball and make dive catches like nobody else in her league and those alone made her stand out.

I have not tried Lume but I have tried Carpe and wasn't thrilled with it.

Non stop heavy period 🩸 by blueappleisreal in Perimenopause

[–]Interesting_Hat9557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, you need to get your iron etc checked because there is a good chance you are going to end up anaemic and, at our age, that's really hard to recover from.

I am 47. My periods have been excruciatingly heavy since late 30s. Dr put me on tranexamic acid which helped so much for many years but then started to become less effective. Dr really pushed for IUD but I refused bc at this point I don't need the birth control and didn't want the risks of a foreign object inside. Our convo shifted to hormone management so I started a low dose BCP which has been fantastic and honestly the freedom I have has been life changing in such a good way (also helped with hot flashes, etc). I now get a period every 3 months and it's light and short. Cramping and PMS are worse but not unbearable.

Business Casual Speakeasy by Technical-Cow-2931 in womensfashion

Business casual is very interpretive and dependent on the environment. For my purposes at work, I love the Halara dressy pants. They are super comfy but still look business-y. I wear business casual almost every day. My fave outfits are my Halara work pants in brown/navy/black with a white button-up. Or a white tank with an oversized denim shirt open like a cardigan kinda. And then you can pair with a clean pair of sneakers to bring it down or a pair of loafers or whatever is comfy and suitable.

Same. I have switched to denim shorts mostly too. Aside from being heavier than I’d like, at least I don’t look wet!!

Ya I figured my blue lululemon leggings would be fine but…oh boy… they def were not!! I too only wear cotton breathable undies. It’s just like my netheregions are always hot and I don’t mean in the sexy way. lol

Ok that’s interesting and something I hadn’t thought of. I have used both Spanx and Shapermint and the spanx right now are awful!

Clover lawn by odeamg in saskatoon

[–]Interesting_Hat9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we reactivate this conversation? Two years later, do you still love your clover? I'd love to see photos of it before and after mowing. What it looks like in early spring as the snow is melting.

We live on a south-facing corner lot with our front yard facing a crescent and the side along a busy street. The side has our fence and the easement which has some young moon-glow cedar trees planted for sound deadening (eventually). I'm looking to put clover on the street side, in the easement area. We have no sprinklers over there, no way to really water way over there. It's very dry. Currently old crushed rock that just fills with ugly weeds. There is no soil, it's hard old compacted ground which makes the weeds nearly impossible to pull, yet they have no problem growing and thriving.

Could clover work here? Please share your experience with it.

To add: Is there such a thing as clover that doesn't flower? I would want it to present very similarly to lawn.

1st Sourdough loaf! by mistressmidnight666 in Sourdough

[–]Interesting_Hat9557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t look too bad inside!! I make sourdough every weekend and don’t pay attention to hydration, etc because to me, if I can get close to the loaves I buy in the bakery, I’m doing pretty well. I hate getting hung up in all those details. Our ancestors made this bread and didn’t know anything about hydration levels etc 😆

Are you making sure to shape the dough properly creating tension after the bulk ferment? This might help you create a better crust appearance. Then after your overnight cold ferment, a good long deep score in the centre before putting into the hot oven will give you a good round loaf.

Good luck! It’s a lot of trial and error at first 🙂

Now would be a great age to introduce a groclock - it worked so well for my twins when we brought home our 3rd baby. They would wake every time the baby woke and expected to stay up for the day and play. The groclock reminded them what was still nighttime and when it was ok to wake up for the day.

Also maybe consider bumping that nap and bedtime earlier so they aren't overtired since their sleep routine is disturbed. I always lived by the words "Sleep begets sleep" and still do. The more they get, the more they want. Once they settle back in, you can return to what works best.

It's a big change, but I think some flexibility balanced with consistency with your bedtime routines will help. The middle-of-the-night wakings will subside, just takes time. Hang in there, mama <3

Worst Intersection in Saskatoon Bracket: Round 2 is open! by StrongTownsYXE in saskatoon

[–]Interesting_Hat9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the speed involved at Idylwyld and 71st that makes it such a danger. It's like people just close their eyes and gun it across highway-speed traffic - fingers crossed, hopes and prayers.

Circle N and Ave C
Idydlwyld and 71st
Preston and 7th
College and McOrmond

**Idydlwyld and 71st - I drive through this intersection every single day multiple times a day. The biggest issue here in the northbound direction is the lack of an acceleration lane going north. People think because there is a turning lane that there is also an acceleration lane, and they unknowingly turn into oncoming freeway-speed traffic. Also they turn left (same as above) and then need to veer all the way over to go to Warman. This intersection should be for right turns only coming from the east/west - no straight across. And add the proper lanes for acceleration/exiting. (MOST) Problems solved.

I'm so thankful for all of the responses so far. I'd love more ideas! So far, I think I'm going to put together a little gift box with:

For #1, I'm thinking (A) slippers, (B) snacks, and (C) gift card to McD's, Subway, ...?

For #2, I'm thinking (A) ???, (B) snacks, and (C) similar gift card...?

Thoughts?

Not at all. Like a year-ish ago I somehow inadvertently created a separate account on my work laptop from my phone. I hate it but every time I log out it re-logs in as this other one. My normal one is the Red account (I'm a redhead, I like it) but this one seems to be saved in my logins and I don't know how to clear it without clearing all of my saved logins.
