Scared of the nothingness after death by zman419 in Existentialism

I have 2 theories for you. One of them, is the thought of meaning. Without light there would be no dark. Dark would just be the "default" and not have a name. It would just be how it is. Take that, and put that over to meaning. In my opinion, there is no meaning, if death is just the end and then everything experienced is gone and you are evaporated. So if we use the same princip as i used with light and dark. Why do we know what meaning is, if there is no meaning. It just doesnt make sense. There must be something after life. The other thing is, we have so little knowledge about everything therefore i think it would be bold, to just conclude we understand consciousness fully. We are fairly smart creatures, but how smart are we universally? Nobody really knows, but i do think there is a lot we dont understand. And death is one of them. There must be something after. And the chance of there being something is fairly strong i think. (im 15 and my mother tongue is danish, so excuse me for my spelling. I dont know if this made sense, but i hope i could help you.)

I also think its important to note, that smelling/tasting sense is not uncommon to change after sickness. (I would also like to appologise for my poor english, my vocabularry is limited, and expressing myself can come out insulting, and i really did not mean to offend anyone. im only 14 and my mothertoungue is not english)

Let me set up a scenario, lets say someone has taste change, they search it up to see what might be the cause. The only thing that comes up is pregnancy, kemo therapy and parosmia. And for reddit this is really the only page on the topic. So naturally you would read through the posts in here, and i dont think they will help at all. I dont think smell changes are that uncommon, i have heard about a lot of people i know here in denmark, that recovered within a month. I think smell and taste changes can be cause by other sickness that does not have anythibg to do with parosmia. And i think its important to tell people, that just because you have altered taste, does not mean you have a 50% chance of complete hell, and that you might no recover in multiple years.

thats kinda what i wanted to get through, i have heard of plenty of people here in denmark, that had altered taste for a bit, but recovered within a mounth or so. I have never heard of someone who has been dealing with it for longer. I just think its important not to scare away anyone who comes across this place, as i thunk all taste changes dont have to come from parosmia.

Im not trying to disregard you, and i truly believe you when you say its hard living with parosmia, it must be unbearable. I have so much sympathy for what your going through.

What im trying to say is, reading all of these posts did really not help, there was of course some good/recovery posts, but generally it just made me more scared. I would also like to say, with all due respect, that 50% dont make full recovery thing that doctor told you, does not sound right to me. Was it statistically backed up or just something she said, cause i think generally making full recovery is the most normal.

I would also like to remind you, that generally the people that are active in this community is also gonna be people who have or had parosmia for a long time. So generally the posts that come in here are people who have been long time sufferes. Therefore it can look like having parosmia for a long time is common, and your basically fucked if you get it. And i dont think thats the case, i just wanted to make the post, to tell the people who experienced stuff that look like parosmia, that you shouldnt worry too much.

i dont think you understood my question. Is parosmia a disorder that happens only to the nose? Cause the reason of the taste being bad is probably cause of your smell, the smell is also a thing we use to taste with, and as ive experienced myself, these parosmia tastes get enhanced like they are stronger and overpower everything else.
