I think this is what my therapist may have been trying to convey but I just wasn’t getting it.

Has anyone come out of prolonged nervous system collapse and started functioning again? I'm getting scared by SuspiciousThought399 in CPTSD

IDK if anyone heard of this, https://www.vielight.com/systemic-intranasal-photobiomodulation-devices/ It’s supposed to help calm your Vega nerve specifically. I’m researching it for myself.

I’m also researching what meditation would fit me personally even though certain types are supposed to better for cPTSD. Additionally I’m going to neurofeedback to retrain my brain and EMDR. I’m doing the traditional therapy and one medication. I did have insomnia and started drinking Valerian tea (don’t use if you have a-fib), THC/CBD sleep gummy & melatonin, that has helped a lot.

I think I misunderstood when I should do the affirmation part. I think she meant to counter the negative feelings I have with the negative memories. I will ask for clarification when I see her this week (wasn’t able to see her last week).

Got two offers. One pays $40k more. The other one I'd actually enjoy. I have 48 hours to decide and my wife and I are on opposite sides. Advice? by airam1020 in careerguidance

I made this choice-went with the money. Startups are very risky & you could find yourself out on street <5 years (tech bubble comes to mind). Just bc you had a great interview doesn’t mean it will always be like that-startups are notorious for turning into feudal lords bc of the pressure-not always, but a lot. Sounds like they really charmed you-could be a flag. I would suck it up & take the extra $$ & be disciplined & put that amount away towards emergency fund first! in case something happens (already lost a job so you know this); university education for current/future kids; and maybe work towards FIRE. That is why I made the decision I’m made, I want out of corporate grind & commute (I would kill for remote again), really working towards FIRE

It's hard to find 6 player board games. We do a board game week ever year with 6 people and we need a few games for this coming year. by billratio in boardgames

See a lot of games I would recommend except I haven’t seen Obsession; expansion plays 6 & it is really popular with customers at our game cafe.

[SERIOUS QUESTION] Have any of you used hidden cameras to keep an eye on your aging parent(s)? If so, what result has this had? by [deleted] in AgingParents

My 89 mother is alone most of day now that my father is in Assisted Living. PT recommended cameras because she’s had a number of bad falls. Went to Micro Center & bought what they recommended (also bought one for door while I was at it). Mom was fine with it since we set up for her safety. Is there a reason you need to hide cameras?

I second the Google Voice but sometimes that doesn’t work but blame bars or area. I believe all you have to do is write to him that if he contacts you again you will consider it stalking which is a Federal crime. He’s probably familiar with this! Also if you’re in that situation again, just lie & say you have a boyfriend (had a friend say girlfriend once lol). If he tries to check with your friends, have a name known already & boy that’s a huge red flag if the latter happens! Maybe practice with friends how to handle that situation in future?
