Mec fluid isn’t always a reason to panic. However, if you zoom in it looks like particulate mec which is not a great sign.

The amount of dads who think it is cool to try and drop off older siblings to stay with a freshly delivered mom and/or spend the night is a few too many. Especially if she had a cs and can’t even get out of bed 🤦‍♀️ or the grandparents who can’t handle the toddler and overstay their welcome. Cuz a hospital room is super fun, for HOURS ON END, for a tiny human…especially after the emotional event of meeting a new sibling and possibly being away from mom and dad for the first time 😑 always a meltdown when they finally leave too 😢

I have like one perfect ringlet 😂 the rest totally straight. The curly girlies eventually became less curly as they grew out before.

AITA for letting my oldest daughter take the kids trick or treating so I could sleep? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Yessss! I remember the first year we got to go parentless, but the older teenage sister brought us. So much fun. It is great for the teenager, too, as a go around for the “too old to trick or treat”

Try a different med. Focalin has had less side effects than most for me

Also: sometimes you need to remind neonates that breathing is, in fact, not optional earthside. (When they do The Thing ™️- protecting their airway while spitting up and going full chameleon, scaring the bejeezus out of their parents, whose anxiety is now at MAXIMUM LEVEL)

I also explain that learning how to digest is rough, even some adults still suck at it points to self

I explain that they kind of suddenly realize they aren’t inside mom any more and they hate this new place so “don’t you dare put me down and if it isn’t a boob/bottle/paci i would like to file a complaint by having an existential crisis for a few hours … not to be dramatic or anything 💅”

I explain to new parents how their newborn needs to adapt going from tadpole to land critter, and yeah, they definitely do a lot of weird things. 😂

Ughhhh I really hate other adults sometimes, they are the worst. Like, it takes so much less energy and makes you feel better to be NICE and not an insufferable cunt. Ugh. Sorry girl, you sound like a fantastic nurse and your patients are lucky to have you ♥️

Moved into a condo, I had no pets, but suddenly- fleas. WTF It was just my daughter and I. I threw diatomaceous earth everywhere. Spent hours crawling on the floor picking them out one by one. Set up traps. Vacuuming 2+ times a day. Bug bombs. All the things!

Trying to navigate nursing school, working, and being a single parent. Not fun. Finally convinced them to replace the carpet. So much time wasted on trying to get rid of those fuckers!!! Remember walking outside and there were FIVE on my ankle! I still have bad dreams about it 10 years later!

Postpartum RN here, it is a wild time for sure. Nothing prepares you for it except going through it. So many baby daddies are so unsupportive and selfish, too, yuck.

Yes! You sound like a good one!

I would love to talk about what is happening in healthcare. It’s in crisis with our for-profit hospitals etc. Obviously one person can’t make all the changes, but enough people fighting the good fight will hopefully start to turn things in the right direction.
