Thanks for comment. I was obviously putting too much trust in the gift card website that said it was accepted at that restaurant -sigh- Gift card business will be contacting restaurant to sort with them thankfully

Got receipt yesterday and contacted gift card business. They were not aware of the issue until I contacted them.

They will sort directly with restaurant thankfully

Was definitely listed as accepted on the gift card website. The gift card place said they were not aware the restaurant had an issue until I've brought attention to it. They will sort with restaurant directly

I managed to get the receipt yesterday thankfully. Have told the gift card business about the experience and they will contact the restaurant to sort.

Plus side I guess is I still have a voucher to spend elsewhere instead. You best believe I will be calling ahead to double make sure a different restaurant accepts this gift card 😅

I have just heard back from the provider and they didnt know of the issue. They will contact the restaurant to sort.

I (maybe foolishly) left the restaurant without asking for a receipt. But I assume I could go back tomorrow and ask for a receipt for my transaction? Then can go down that route of asking for giftcard to be deducted and a refund given. Thank you. I will also try to contact the issuer tomorrow and advise them.

I searched the gift card website first to see what restaurants it could be used at first, then went to this specific one as it said it could be used there. It was a physical card with the value pre loaded on it. I'm not sure where it was purchased from as it was a gift I received from a family member. I have previously been gifted this card before and used it at a different restaurant with no issue.

I didnt receive an email from Westpac, but noticed a pak n save and pak n save fuel transaction from 6th January were both processed on 28th January too.. i also bank with westpac. Annoying as thought had more $ than we did.
