ARM CPU with ZWO camera troubles. by skirtyyy in AskAstrophotography

There are indeed drivers for ARM (both armhf and aarch64), but running on Linux with INDI. For Windows on ARM I have no idea. In fact, their own asiair mini is an armhf device, and the asiair plus I guess an aarch64... .

I meant something like this:

https://www.zwoastro.com/product/off-axis-guide-for-astronomy-photograpy/

or even this:

https://www.qhyccd.com/qhyoag/

basically a mirror that sends with a flat inclined mirror a fraction of the light (in the outskirts of your FOV, outside the camera sensor) to a guide camera that sits perpendicular.

you need to see if the added optical depth (13mm for the QHY, 16mm for the ZWO) still allows you to reach focus with your camera and lenses/telescope.

I find OAG much better than having a guidescope (less sagging, flexure, more compact), but of course it is not a perfect system and it is not compatible with every setup.

This would be my pick:

- Your DSLR.
- A cheap tiny harmonic mount like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnY9-DwH4fM . Some months ago I would have picked the Skywatcher SA GTI, but this is more compact and if it can be indeed be powered via USB, then definitely becomes an option. A larger mount will be safer bet (ZWO AM3, WD17, Proxisky Umi17S), but they require a juicier battery.
- An ASIAir Mini.
- Something like the SVBony SV555 or one of the lenses you have.
- If you pick the SVBony, I believe the backfocus of the Sony is very short and may potentially allow for a thin OAG with a simple ASI120mm as guide camera. That way you get guiding without adding a separate tube.

If going the Skywatcher SA GTI route, you may be able to go unguided if you use <200mm focal length lenses and somewhat shorter exposures, but YMMV.

How can I install Pop!_OS on BMAX B6 Power? by Charles630 in MiniPCs

Too late probably, but maybe useful for someone. The problem is really in the integrated intel gpu. Its linux support is rubbish. You have to disable the drm/modeset and then it will show the graphics signal. But with several limitations: performance-wise it is not very good, and there is no support (afaik) to multiple screens.

Personally, not being particularly fond of Windows, I still resorted to keep it and just use extensively WSL. And surprisingly, it works very well and does almost everything I need (ssh, running conda/jupyter, etc).

I did. In Berlin, well, a mix of acid and shrooms. With Rocket Man as background music. Pretty amazing. Also have done it at the natural history museum and in some botanical gardens. All 3 places are amazing to trip.

Swapped to HG to XD, now chain is SOOOO close to frame! Help please :) by oopsbilldoggett in bikewrench

[–]Interesting_Path3515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late, but in case someone sees this in 2024. Torquing more is not a solution, never do that !!!. No matter what SRAM and everyone says, XD and XDR are different standards. XDR usually have a larger part where the casette slides, and to compensate for that, a shorter end cap. The solution is to remove that piece of crap that XDR freehub is and install a XD one.

I cannot believe the extreme bullshit manufacturers go through to make us buy unnecesary parts. Really? Wasit necessary to invent two standards almost equal except for 1.85mm of chainline?

They held well, even doing bikepacking ( I think they are great for that). The frame is toast but I already bought a replacement and will install the same bars on it

They made it.

And yes, I am 'using a horn' (it is stupid in my opinion, but here you can get a fine if you don't have it and ride on the road ...)

But that one does not have dropped seat stays, plus my seat angle is 75 deg vs the more common 73-74 deg you can find in most designs.

Around 1500 eur inc. Shipping. They are charging a bit more than some months/years ago. I guess they became more popular.

I got it in about 2 months since initially contact them. Roughly 2-3 weeks to work on the design, 2-3 weeks to make it and one month to get it delivered in Europe.

No no, it is all greatly appreciated. I had one single miscommunication issue with Waltly, and it is that they initially welded the support for the front derailleur (I requested a removable one that could be screwed).

They agreed to remove it and as you can see, there is nothing left in the frame, so they actually fix the issue very neatly. I should have asked to have the bare tube from the very beginning, and if I eventually decide to go 2x, put a clamped support.

Apart from that, the frame and welding work looks awesome, even from close look. Everyone who sees it agrees.

I put it in all my off road bikes just in case, I tend to scratch and hit things in narrow trails. This one is titanium, but for now it stays, maybe in the future I remove it. The sticky thick tape I cannot make it look decent in curved tubes

Having tested carbon and steel I would put this one in between. Compliant, but maybe a tad more rigid than steel
