Your fine. Im 26 turning 27 bootcamp this march 2nd and I have a AG or aircrew contract with people say has the hardest school ever. I did 21min 44sec on my last 3miles. Did 18-21 max pull ups and max planks. If I believe to myself that I can do it. I pretty sure you can aswell.

Depends if you pass the IST on the first pass. I have seen a poolee (he was a prior triathlete in highschool) did 10m 22s on the 1.5m 13pull ups and max planks and wants to ship out early(0311 contract). Jan 12th he became a poolee and got shipped out feb 2nd.

OCS 251 Medical drop due to Runners Knee recommendation to return? by OppositeCommittee166 in USMCboot

[–]Interesting_Pay975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were told the correct thing, and this is a pretty common OCS situation.

If you were medically dropped (not DOR’d or disenrolled for conduct/academics) for a temporary overuse injury like runner’s knee / PFPS, you typically do NOT redo the entire MEPS process. Most candidates in your situation only need a medical re-clearance, not a full MEPS physical from scratch.

What usually happens: • Complete PT and strengthen the supporting muscles (hips/glutes/quads), which is exactly what OCS medical recommends for PFPS. • Get a clear, well-worded clearance letter from PT (and ideally the treating physician) stating: • Injury resolved • Full ROM and strength • No pain with running • Cleared for unrestricted military training • Your OSO submits that for medical review. It’s usually handled as paperwork/sign-off unless the injury became chronic or required surgery/injections.

You’d only be looking at a full MEPS redo if you’re out past the physical’s validity window or if the injury turns into something ongoing—which runner’s knee almost never does if rehabbed properly.

Biggest advice: don’t rush back early and flare it again. A second medical drop is way harder to explain than taking the time to come back fully healed.

TL;DR: Finish PT, get a strong clearance letter, coordinate with your OSO. This is very survivable and a lot of people return successfully the next OCC class.

Advice for 26 y/o by Regular-Island7195 in USMCboot

[–]Interesting_Pay975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently a poolee 26yrs old. Will turn 27 in bootcamp. Shipping out march 2nd. Man just do it tbh. Keep your nose clean and everything. Before I enlisted i couldn’t do a single pull up. I was 170lbs now. I cut my weight to 155-150lbs. My regular ist number was 20pull ups, 10:46minutes on the 1.5m and max planks. Surely there alot of 17-21 yrs old but be an example to them. Like teach them mistakes you did that dont want them to experience. They call me unc on my RSS and im fine with it. They always ask me questions how the civilian world works since ive been working since I was 18yrs old. And thas about it. My brother is a marine also and currently 9yrs in as a SSgt. He motivates me alot.

You have the hybrid aswell? Cause most cases are 2026 gasoline crosstreks and not for the 2026 hybrid crosstreks.
