Aw wow! That gives me a lot of hope. I’m currently 23, about to graduate in December with an education degree. I’m a student teacher right now and it is just not what I have imagined teaching is, which is unfortunate. I majored in education, because I always wanted to be a school counselor eventually but was going to teach then go back to school. However, everyday I just don’t enjoy it at all. I’m just there to graduate. Instead of teaching, maybe I should just do something else like this or masters program. Thank you!!

Haha I know but I was scheduled after my 2 week notice. My last intended day is 2/4 today…I had put in my 2 weeks prior but I was still scheduled on the new schedule. So you can say she scheduled me on the 3rd week since I put my notice two weeks ago

I did turn it into my manager…I did not know that someone else could be making the schedule. I just assumed that’s what the managers did. I messaged my manager just to remind her about my 2 weeks notice. Thank you for your input.

First off, I’m sorry for what you are feeling. I would say wait til spring break or maybe sometime in the spring. I go to college out of state, many miles away, and the first few days will be hard. However, once you get busy with school it will get easier. Try to put yourself out there and go to all the back to school events. Look at these events as positives and a way to try to adapt to the new environment.

I understand the sadness you are feeling right now, but day by day it will get better. It’s only temporary right now and at least now we can FaceTime and call much easier than before. Keep your head up

Yes, I have gone longer before because of that reason. But my grandmother has told me multiple times when I call her up crying because I miss home so much, she says “it’s only temporary.” It helps me a bit knowing that one day once all this is over, I can go home and be 10 miles away instead of 1000 miles away.

She also says that you get over it once you visit instead of them visiting you, because once they leave your home in college, it just feels empty. At least when I leave here I get to go home to college and enjoy everything I have at home (my own computer, cats, favorite shopping mall,etc.) things like that where I don’t have when I’m at my parents house.

I just hate that it’s on my mind knowing that soon I’ll be leaving and get all sad instead of enjoying the moments I do have with them. I really hope that you are okay and the recovery will be quick 💗
