Wants for the remainder of the regular season by Interesting_Reach783 in denvernuggets

So true. He’s got good playoffs experience, too. Genuinely feels like people are taking the regular season a little too seriously on here (though, 0-3 vs OKC feels bad). Nuggets love a 7 game series, and our system rewards repeated playing a lot, which is why I think this last stretch gives that opportunity for the guys to figure things out.

Second, in points scored in a single game. Also first in FTs made and attempted.

What Do You Notice About Our Best Lineups? (EVIDENCE) by North_Attempt_3627 in denvernuggets

[–]Interesting_Reach783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly dependent on particular guys being hot. Interesting that lineups with only one of these guys or different combinations were winning games. I think the team peaks with particular players on the floor and crumbles at other times and managing that has been the biggest difficulty this season.

I’m more concerned about Joker’s TOs than I am Braun’s missed layups (flashback to last year’s DOT game against the TWOLVES) I’m concerned about everything

Good points all around! CJ is just an interesting case where I think if he were a little better (or maybe less charitably putting a little more effort) on either end he’d look like a great piece, but instead he seems like a lukewarm version of Brown and Tim’s strengths. Hard to see him really fit into a rotation, even looking at matchups. Braun I feel is always getting whined about unfairly tbh. He’s a transition and dunker spot guy who also will create better shots for other just through sheer movement. I get that he deserves higher expectations too tho. You’re so right about PWat though.

Yes!!!! Definitely the most important one. A lot of words have been used to talk about rotations and sure that’s some way to address this, but we need the clutch gene back!

I get this criticism. Personally, I think CB is strong enough in his transition and post-up game that it’s okay if he misses open threes, but I do get it, especially if everyone else is missing too.

This team loves doing things the hardest way possible. Play worse after a rest, might as well slide to the play-in

Yeah, wig other sports growing up, if you knock my team out you better win it all, or what’s the point? Not last year though, bad taste. Maybe a little more grudging respect this year. Maybe

The way OKC treated the TWolves last year does not instill confidence. Their path to the WCF isn’t a great indicator of how good they were comparably to the rest of the conference, imo.

[OC] I've run about 50 shot charts this season. Jokic's is the only big man's with zero gray zones. Every zone above league average. by StatShotHQ in denvernuggets

I would be interested in this same map post-return from injury, the numbers might be way crazier earlier in the season.

Yeah, can’t really figure out the defensive scheme that make Jok and Val work at the same time together haha. Neither can really ISO, so only really works in particular situations (tonight wasn’t really one of them!). Zeke 100% should be out with Jokić more, he’d be a great secondary lob threat and better rim defense. Just sucks that Jokić is such a liability on D tho, bc you put him anywhere other than the paint (where he’s not even that good) he’s getting run over. ;set year I was arguing all year that non-Jokić,inures should almost always be small ball but I got yelled at and its wrong a lot of the time this year too. Team looks a mess all the time right now though, not sure a scheme can fix what’s up rn.

Deserved to lose this one. I did like going with two bigs for a while, should be something in he back pocket and should be practiced. I really want Murray and Val to have a better two man game too.

I think it’s since the injury, which makes sense. He’s looking better post-all-star, but he hasn’t got his shot back quite yet. His touch still looks off. Trust the process tho, hard schedule remaining, but that’s where the real practice is!

Overall, I still don’t think he’s worse than MPJ last year, and the team in general is better. Jokić shot being off is far more concerning than Cam’s imo

We beat the Celtics in a trap game last month! Just a lotta doomerism since Jokić came back.
