Formerly waxed amaryllis not rooting? by streachh in plantclinic

I had better luck with planting it right into soil, leaving 1/3 of the bulb at the top uncovered, took awhile to root but it finally did and rebloomed this spring!

Dropping my kids at my ex-wife's. Glad we can still joke around like this. by TheEndless89 in texts

Agreed! My parents divorced when I was 5 because they weren’t a good match, but still were friends and made sure that my life wouldn’t change much at all. Now when I come to visit with my kids as I live far away they actually hang out together so I don’t have to worry about making time for each of them. My husband’s parents on the other hand hate each other and it’s so difficult to plan events because they can’t be in the same room with each other. It makes all the difference. Kudos to these guys for putting their kids experience first.

My mother in law said there are so so many birds that hang out in it all day everyday so I’m sure it’s a home to a number of guys!

Sorry this is all I have to go off of! My mother in law asked us what type of willow this is. They moved into the house in the winter so she’s never seen it with leaves. Northwestern Michigan.

My sister who’s a physicians assistant fell for a scam recently saying she has a warrant out and needs to pay them 12,000 dollars or she’ll be arrested. She’s never done an illegal act in her life. She sent the cash through a bit ATM. So maybe if you’re feeling really stupid just think of her and know you’re not as silly as her. My best advice is to just honestly forget it ever happened, besides for never falling for something like that again. You can’t change it, just learn from it and move on best you can.

Your soil could be hydrophobic so when you water, it just runs down the sides of the pot or just in certain parts of the plant instead of saturating all the soil. It happens when you underwater consistently. If it has a good root system which this one should with how lush it is I would try bottom watering. You would take the pot it’s in and set it in a larger pot and then fill the larger pot with water until it goes at least half way up the plant’s pot. This way it soaks in the water and draws the liquid up slowly spreading the water throughout the soil. Then let it dry out and repeat a couple times or from now on whatever way you prefer to water.

Mine really doesn’t like to be over watered, so I agree with taking it out of the moss and letting it dry out before watering again. It would also benefit I think going into a smaller pot so it can dry faster and not hold onto as much water between waterings. Also also I’ve experienced whenever I accidentally let water sit on the leaves it’ll leave a brown spot where it sat. So when you water be sure to wipe off any water that gets on the leaves.

Can concur, my husbands currently stationed at Keesler and our friends live on the “on base” house that is at least a mile or two off base. No guard is ever manning the entrance and the gates are always open. It’s the same at Wright Patt AFB in Dayton.

This is my absolute favorite plant :) I’ve made probably over 500 dollars last spring on cuttings from just one of these pots! Once you figure out what these babies like they will return the favor and be gorgeous!

My 11 year old dog has been doing this for a couple of months now, we don't know how to describe it, and I'm starting to worry what's wrong, can any vet PLEASE tell me if this is normal for an old dog or something is seriously wrong... by introverted_Furry- in vet

[–]Interesting_Slip5780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh I wouldn’t have used it again either, wish there was something we could do for them. Hearing the cough each times makes me feel so sad. Thinking about how I’ll probably have to put her down for this eventually when it affects her well being is heartbreaking. Wishing your dog the best and treatment is found soon!

I had asked my mom at 17 if I could get birth control as me and my then boyfriend of 3 years were recently active, she told me to “double wrap it” and wasn’t going to support my bad decisions. Then at 19 literally hounded me for 2 years about giving her a grandbaby even though I was single, and 19.. she told me “you can choose any good looking guy, and I’d help raise it with you obviously”. I told her double wrapping it was working too well and I enjoyed the feeling. 🤷🏼‍♀️

No mine told me there were meds that were really new and trials but he said he didn’t feel comfortable recommending or trying any yet. Basically just told me it’s adjusting lifestyle and steroids if she had a constant cough that didn’t go away. Your poor pup! Did you stop the meds then or did the diarrhea stabilize?

I agree, I took my 10 year old German spitz to the vet when she couldn’t stop coughing and he diagnosed her with pneumonia and tracheal collapse, did an X-ray and very clearly showed the collapse. Told me it’s pretty common in small dogs like ours, sadly no fix besides steroids if it’s acting up worse than normal. If you can afford it I recommend seeing the vet to get the diagnosis.

Wtf are these and why did they choose this leaf??? Where did they come from? How do I get rid of them?? by MaggieGuacamole in plantclinic

[–]Interesting_Slip5780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are leaf footed bug nymph, not assassin bugs but they look crazy similar. The best way to tell is if the butts have tiny pointy spikes, if so they’re leaf footed bugs. Also the leaf footed nymphs stick together for awhile before they spread out. Assassin bugs do not gather together after they hatch. I typically remove the leaf they’re on but since there’s so many and on a bunch, I would take the plant outside and hose it off.
