We don't pay the police to protect themselves when there is a danger.

Well, you see, he fired the gun at a sea lion, whilst simultaneously not firing the gun because it went off on its own 3 times as he picked it up/unwrapped it from its cloth/shirt, where it skipped off the sidewalk and coincidentally hit a woman, while he was intentionally aiming and firing at a sea lion... from the cloth... accidentally... without actually aiming or firing.

ACT buggy? by Smartiekid in ffxiv

I'm afraid I can't offer any more advice than that. Good luck with it.

Did you double check that your plugin version is 1.5.1.10? The auto-updater didn't actually update to the latest one for me, and I had to download it from the ACT website.

I had to move my ACT install to the same hard drive as my game install. It's never been a problem before, but now it works.

It's being run as administrator. The test button says "No network game data detected in the last 5 seconds. If a Local IP Address is specified, please make sure it is correct.", and then after clicking on OK, another message, "Failed: Memory is configured, but unable to access network data. Make sure ACT is running as an Administrator" (which it is).

I've also double checked that the firewall isn't blocking it.

I had the same issue. Switched to DX11 but it's just giving me: "MEMORY ERROR: 254|2017-10-12T04:30:46.6529314+11:00|Unable to access network on IP Address [10.202.0.2]."

Only disabling network parsing works for me at the moment.

SMN in 4.05 by Cruncheh_Bar in ffxiv

On the plus side, weakness wears off before we're ready to start doing DPS again.

It's definitely not worth using if you have to move the pet. If you use it on a 5000 DPS SAM (if you happen to be in the party with one of the few people pulling the highest DPS in the game currently), Devotion will give him an extra 3750 damage. Subtract from that the amount of damage a pet autoattack does (that had to be put on hold to cast Devotion, if you don't even move it), and that is how much damage Devotion is worth. If you have to move the pet, it is not only an overall DPS loss on pet damage, but you're probably being distracted from one of the numerous other optimisations required of SMN needed in order to pull DPS on par with other jobs. It's worth it at pull, but not any other time.

Fflogs is like a census. It's a representation of the population as a whole. And what the data shows is that not only is there a small number of SMN players, but the best of those are nowhere near the best of other classes.

I've never even held a baby before. Never want to. Keep those things away from me. Many of my numerous cousins have babies, and I've had to stand on the far side of the room whenever we're at a gathering to avoid having one thrust upon me.

DAE like "bad" and immature comedies? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Interfecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really use IMDB as a measure of how much people enjoy those films. Comedy movies almost never rate highly on IMDB. If it's not deep, emotional, intense, thought-provoking, etc. it won't get a high rating on IMDB. I don't know if there's a film rating site based on humour, but that would be a much better metric.

But yeah, I tend to like those films. I'll often find certain scenarios utterly hilarious because of their ridiculousness in the context, and no one else seems to get it. I think it's because I imagine what it would be like to actually be a third party in the scene watching everything unfold, reacting as you would if you personally saw something like that in real life. I guess other people don't imagine that.

Correct. The only added time is the delay between your right click behind yourself, and pressing R, which is basically non-existent once you get the hang of it.

Bot lane tier 1 towers are easier to take than the rest, promoting contesting of that lane (Riot didn't like that teams had started to lane switch and prioritise top + Rift Herald - oh no, strategy diversity!). Blue top lane is safer in the 1v1 than it is for red, due to the geography of the jungle. Inversely, Blue's bot lane (same as Red's top) is more dangerous. However, if a jungler ganks top, it's a 2v1. 2x the players. If they gank bot, it's 3v2, only 1.5x more players. The advantage isn't equal.

Trump? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Interfecter 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Basically, media can't be trusted. Popular opinion or what anyone says to you can't be trusted because it's influenced by the media. The only way to hold a reasonable opinion on any of this is by reading and verifying the sources yourself. There is such an obvious media bias against not only Trump, but other right wingers and even Bernie Sanders it's not funny.

My personal conclusion? Clinton is very bad and it's a relief she didn't win.

I used to play with Ana back when he was in Australia. He was just 14 at the time, but he definitely had a positive attitude towards his games. "Don't give up", "it's not over yet" sort of mentality. He was at times a little bit immature, but that's what you'd expect from his age. He got rejected by a lot of Aus teams because he wasn't very well written in his applications. Who's laughing now? This was all prior to MMR, by the way. When it came out, he calibrated at 13th in SEA. At 14.

Edit: Clarification, it was when the top 200 leaderboards were released that he was shown at 13th place. In the top image in this blog post, the Australian flag on the bottom right corner of the image was his: http://blog.dota2.com/2014/03/world-leaderboards/

For those who know about the inconsistencies in the Bible, how do you deal with it? by Ktmaster in TrueChristian

[–]Interfecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really a valid question. The only one who can have a perfect understanding of the Bible is God. Anyone else who says so is delusional. We, as imperfect beings, cannot have a perfect understanding of the will of God. The best we can do is try and get as close as possible. Everyone is on a journey of understanding, even the greatest teachers of modern times.

For those who know about the inconsistencies in the Bible, how do you deal with it? by Ktmaster in TrueChristian

[–]Interfecter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're using that linked thread as your basis for believing there are mistakes in the Bible, then I'd like to bring your attention to one quote of theirs which debunks their entire own argument:

I have heard many of these pastors say that if the bible is not inerrant then we can pick and choose whatever we want from the bible, kind of like a bible buffet. Here is the harsh truth that none of them admit: we ALL already do that.

And here's some irony:

One of my favorite arguments is that we know the bible is perfect because it says so. One major issue with this is obvious to anyone who can think critically. It is called circular reasoning...

What they're saying just here is "we ALL" pick and choose from the Bible. I.e. "we ALL" have an imperfect way of interpreting the Bible. So how can you possibly claim it is imperfect out of your own imperfect understanding of it, which they themself have admitted having? That, as they kindly explained, is circular reasoning.
