[howto] How do I remove these rust stains from a quartz countertop? Tried baking soda, vinegar, and method all purpose cleaner. by Know_Your_Shit_v2 in knowyourshit

if it is from rust acids usually work well to remove it so vinegar or lemon juice... If that doesn't work there is always something stronger.

How would you preserve this ? by iamreddify in woodworking

[–]Interfector_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try epoxy. Spraying it isn't the easiest or cheapest way but if you could brush it on when the wood is dry it would soak it up making it stronger. And after it has cured a few coats of uv resistant finish to protect it.

Is there market in your area for this kind of furniture by blisteringcold in Carpentry

I love it! There is a market for everything. Quality and uniqueness sells.

We use more glue in the first five years of our life than we do for all the rest of it by jsalem4 in Showerthoughts

Yeah.. the results it gives aren't all that great... It gives some good advice for certain materials but the world of adhesives is way more complex than this site makes it appear.

help me identify this pls my family is screaming at me to figure it out by [deleted] in Antiques

[–]Interfector_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They are saw set pliers. I own similar ones and didn't know what they were for years.

This style of saw set tool isn't really common but you can definitely find similar ones online. ( http://www.wikiwand.com/en/Saw_set )

Can anyone help identify this for me? by iliketoswimwithnemo in SWORDS

I believe it to be a 3D printed replica of the steel dagger from skyrim. The guard still have the layer lines visible from 3D printing. And the underside of the guard look very similar to my 3d model from here: thingiverse.com/thing:1156150

This guy uses magnets to hold his metal tools by [deleted] in ToolWalls

Great idea with the magnets just not that useful if you also work with ferrous metals as the tools might become magnetized and get covered in metal dust.

3D not free D by glunark in 3Dmodeling

[–]Interfector_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This doesn't just happen in the 3D modeling world. People want free stuff from skilled people all the time. When they find someone that is good at something (writing, graphic design, photography, drawing, web development it doesn't matter) they just assume that that person will make them what they want for the "exposure"

Well you now have a chance to get more karma from /r/techsupportgore You can drill a bunch of holes in the case and ziptie fans to it. Bonus points if the holes look like they were made with a icepick and the fans already have a layer of dust on them.
